Loaded Chicken Sandwich Posted October 27, 2019 Posted October 27, 2019 Texas should not be in the top 25I could see that. But two of their 3 losses are to LSU and Oklahoma. So I wouldn’t say they are a bad team. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app IUsafety 1 Quote

Close losses to OU and LSU, however, 3 losses in eight games should not be worthy of a top team 25 ranking. Quote
Loaded Chicken Sandwich Posted October 27, 2019 Posted October 27, 2019 3 losses is my argument. Close losses to OU and LSU, however, 3 losses in eight games should not be worthy of a top team 25 ranking. That doesn’t mean everything. If you lose to 2 Top 10 teams, one being arguably the best in the nation, then you still have a reason to be in the Top 25. But I can see keeping them out and replacing them with San Diego State, Memphis, Wake Forest and a couple others. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Quote

Class of '66 Old Fart Posted October 31, 2019 Posted October 31, 2019 247Sports- Michigan State linebacker Joe Bachie has been ruled ineligible by the Big Ten Conference after testing positive for a supplement classified as a performance-enhancing substance, the program announced Wednesday. MSU says it will file an appeal immediately. “All my career I’ve done my very best to represent Michigan State in a positive manner on and off the field. I plan to appeal, but to all of those affected, from my coaches to my teammates and to the fans, I apologize for putting them through this situation. I will always be a Spartan," Bachie said in a statement. Bachie, a two-time captain, leads the Spartans in tackles with 71. He has started 34 straight games at middle linebacker for MSU, which has its second bye this weekend. “Joe Bachie has built himself into an All-Big Ten middle linebacker and two-time team captain through his incredible work ethic and leadership skills," MSU head coach Mark Dantonio said in a statement. "This situation breaks my heart, but I know Joe is resilient and accountable. No one feels worse than Joe does, a sentiment he expressed when he spoke to the team earlier today. This does not define Joe as a player, and more importantly, as a man. He will graduate in December and has a very bright future ahead of him, both on and off the field. As a program, we plan to appeal immediately, and will continue to support Joe however we can. He will forever be a Spartan.” Quote
Demo Posted November 2, 2019 Posted November 2, 2019 Plummer with a Mayfieldesque shuffle pass int in the Purdue-Nebraska game. Then Martinez almost does the same thing on the next freaking play. Great stuff. HoosierAloha 1 Quote
Loaded Chicken Sandwich Posted November 2, 2019 Posted November 2, 2019 I wonder how Maryland fans are feeling... after two weeks of the season they had beaten Howard 79-0. Then in week 2 beat the #21 Syracuse Orange 63-20 and they were in the Top 25 at #21... and then went all downhill from there as they lost a close one to Temple, got smoked 59-0 by Penn State. But then rolled Rutgers 48-7 so maybe things turned back around... nope. They lost Purdue 40-14. Lost to Indiana and then got whooped by Minnesota 52-10. And they are now losing 21-0 to Michigan. They still have Ohio State, Nebraska and Michigan State left. What started out as a promising season is ending up looking like a 3-4 win season. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Quote
Demo Posted November 2, 2019 Posted November 2, 2019 One of these days someone needs to explain to me why so many sports media types constantly talk about Adrian Martinez like he’s any good at all. Maybe he will be, but he’s not now. Would take Penix over Martinez all day long. Quote

Their backups are way better than him at this point. Their OC isn’t exactly helping with his play calling Quote

His transition from mild mannered “thanks for having me here” to hall of fame QB leader calling out each of the position players was great. Quote
