Purely out of curiosity, a question for those of you that closely follow college football.  What percentage of the players announcing for the portal do you think have their next landing spot pretty much already lined up?

At this point in the season? 50-75% of future portalists have a representative putting out feelers, and far less than 10% have their destination set.

A lot.  Matt Weaver was just on a pod and he noted tampering is rampant.  It makes sense given how players' agents can do all the dirty work (shopping players and fielding interest/offers).  I think many schools are doing this.

Of decent players who will see the field, they may not know their precise next spot, but I'd bet most (like 2/3 or more) have a short list of five or so schools who are interested by the time the hit the portal.

No clue but as some have already noted a lot of these players have agents and they're getting paid to find spots. If I had to guess, and it's a complete guess pulling out of my tukus, I'd say a lot have a very short list already lined up or at least a good idea of their market value. I guess it just all depends on how good the agent is at doing his/her job in the grand scheme of things.

Diego Pavia’s mom is … a lot.

Discuss:

I just did a google search on her, and she ... likes to have fun it looks like.  She isn't Zach Wilson's mother in terms of beauty, but she does like the attention while the cameras seem to find her, a lot.

Maybe I'm completely off base, but I keep seeing people talk about how the Egg Bowl is one of the least likely "games with implications" to have an upset this weekend and I'm just not buying that. Lane and his teams tend to lose focus easily, there are a ton of distractions before even thinking about that, Miss State isn't good but they also aren't completely awful, and the game is in Starkville! Not to mention a nooner where it's not out of the question for Ole Miss to come out sleepy. I'll have eyes on that for sure.

North Texas' coach going to Oklahoma St

No surprise there; wonder if he’ll be able to bring his QB with him ($$$).

Also wonder if Morris’ OC (Jordan Davis iirc) is the likely replacement at NTSU. Or if guys like Haines and Shanahan might get involved.

Haines is making $2 mil this year and Shanahan $1.15 mil vs Morris (was) making $1.4 mil as HC.

N Texas in the AAC is gonna have to probably triple their HC salary to get those either of those two.

Which is why they may stay “in-house” and promote Davis, especially if they think it would give them at least a small chance of keeping the QB. But I doubt OkState would hire Morris unless they felt doing so would also give them a good shot at getting the QB.
