Trish Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 Yes. Yes of course we all want our boys to win the championship and hang the banner up. But that might not happen. So here is my question. With the Dance coming up next week, how far will we need to go to for YOU to be happy with our season? For example, what will make me happy with our boys and Tommy Boy would be an elite eight finish. We won the B1G outright, beat some good teams, shot lights out some nights, have the experience and bench, and have the senior all america PG that can lead us there. After today's L, i'm not so confident we will even make it out next weekend but we shall see next Sunday. Is the final four your make it or break it rule this march? Sweet 16? Round of 32 okay with some of you? Post away Defenserocks28 1 Quote
WayneFleekHoosier Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 Hoping for elite eight. Anything else disappointing. Actually expecting rd of 32 or 16 loss though. Defenserocks28, southsidehoosier and 8bucks 3 Quote
KingPG21 Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 I guess I'd be happy with an elite 8 at the least. We have the talent, but yeah our postseason history with Crean is not good to say the least. Sure some of this is going to come to the draw we get. But for the most part coaching and talent should win out, Trish and ALASKA HOOSIER 2 Quote

akhosrof Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 Trying to be positive here, it is very difficult... One way of looking at things, it may be good we got this loss out of the way: we nearly blew games against Purdue and Iowa at the end. We had a five game winning streak, if we won the B1G tournament we'd be at eight. I wonder how many national championship teams ended the season winning fourteen games straight? Streak like that are difficult. If we do make a run, maybe this loss keeps us from otherwise burning out in the Sweet 16 or something. The false sense of confidence from our five game winning streak is over, let's get some desperation back in our game. This year is different than last year. Last year we showed no signs of being able to compete against top teams. This year, sure we may play down to our competition, but we have shown the ability to beat anyone. We didn't have that potential last year IMO. With all that said, I would be very much encouraged by an Elite Eight. Possibly a Sweet Sixteen depending on who we lose to and if it's a close game. cappymo14, Trish and Bowhunter 3 Quote
Brass Cannon Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 I have said all along we needed to play 6 postseason games for me to be happy. So I guess final four Quote
Defenserocks28 Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 Final Four. We have all the talent to get there. Senior PG, loads of upper classmen, tons of people that can shoot the 3, Bryant down low, and now, a great all-purpose defender in OG. Crean needs to make the jump this year. I have little faith we'll do anything next*** year. Our strength will be utilizing the post...which we never do. Especially not in tight games. Our final play(s) can be summarized as..."drive from the top of the key into three defenders, jump in mid air.....and then decide to either pass or shoot a terrible shot." cappymo14 1 Quote
VO5 Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 Elite 8. Anything less is a disappointment and just par for the course over the years. Trish 1 Quote

Feathery Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 Final Four is what will make me happy. I think we are out in the 2nd weekend though. Today is a total joke and unacceptable. There is no way a #1 seed should ever lose the first game of the conference tournament. Bruce038 and Scooter D 2 Quote
FortWayneHoosier Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 I hate to say it but I gotta agree with the talent we have final four imho Quote
Old Friend Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 I'm already pretty pissed. Today's game (Michigan) showed why I and many others simply cannot invest in Crean 100%. He just got abused today and had no idea what to do when Michigan's game plan worked. They made IU play defense for 30 seconds every possession, and then got something going toward the rim. Indiana never adjusted. Out of timeouts, Indiana struggled to get a good shot. The formula to beat Tom Crean is obvious. There's nothing beyond dribbling in the half court. No movement. No post seals. No ball reversal. So this March? Indiana needs to play like they give a damn. Today, they looked content where they were; and cost themselves at least a 3 seed and maybe a 2. Now, we'll be in the 4/5 game the first weekend instead of the 3/6 or 2/7. Anything less than the sweet 16 is unacceptable, and with the parity of this season? We were capable of a deep run with a higher seed. This loss is costly, but expectations are the same. Not a good start (again) to the post season. DChoosier Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 Partially depends on matchups and health of Johnson, Morgan and Hartman. We have done better than I expected this year as I thought MD and maybe PU and/or MSU would finish above us. After 10 games there is no way I thought we would end the regular season winning out the most difficult portion of the season. Nor did I foresee, but was glad to see, the reduction in turnovers, better defense, more "good Troy", Improvement in Morgan and OG. etc etc. During the season many aspects of the team Improved more than I have ever seen with Crean ( he even claps less :) ). That being said.....really want to get out of the weekend and into the sweet 16. That would be "OK" but not satisfying. cappymo14 1 Quote

biteoftheapple Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 I want more than 3 games. So, that means at least elite 8. We need to improve going out in the round of 16. Quote
Beowulf50 Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 Draw is everything. We could be one and done or we could be final four bound. However that can be said about a lot of teams. We have the talent to go far and if we do not reach the elite 8 with this team I will be very disappointed. Hell we should be final four bound! Quote
Alford Bailey Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 We are a top ten team and won our conference by 2 games. Final four is the expectation. Trish 1 Quote
bleedhoosier Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 After spending basically 20 years in the gutter, I'd honestly be happy with sweet 16 since we won the big ten. We still seem to be making strides as a program overall. Let's keep winning the big ten. If so, those will be teams that make runs. I dunno, I'm more pleased with taking the big ten at this point. I don't want to get too upset over a sweet 16 loss.. walk, then run. If we get bounced in game one. I'm irate. Crean is an absolute terrible tournament coach. He and his teams almost always crap the bed. This year's team has shown grit like no Crean team before so I'm holding... Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk Quote
