(2018) PG Darius Garland to Vandy

Recommended Posts

He doesn't have anything right. You can't trust a Crystal ball until after a recruit announces. These expert tools are useless

Yep. These guys could have info that we haven’t seen from any of our insiders. Or maybe they don’t know anymore than what we do. These are guesses at the end of the day. Until we hear it from the player, nothing is done.

"I don't think a decision has been made so anyone claiming to know is BS'in you. That said I think he stays home. Thats the thought"

Email from someone not around Tenn but does this for a living. Take it for what it's worth, but he's kept me informed over the years

Has Darius committed to Vanderbilt yet?

Maybe, maybe not. Just putting a 'what if' scenario out there if the CB swoon has merit. My gut says it does, but until Meyer flips I'll hold a little piece of the dream.

Like I've said before the Phinisee commitment never made sense to me (if we were going to get Garland). When rumors swirled that we were leaders I was as shocked as anyone. It makes more sense to me that we wouldn't get Garland so I've always kinda expected it.

I'll be happy to be surprised but if not, DGreen gives me hope for the immediate future. Moreso than Phinisee.

lol so the three guys who switched their pick to Vandy are Andrew Slater, Brian Flinn, and Eric Hampford.

Andrew Slater: 495/653 - 75%

Brian Flinn: 182/304 - 59%

Eric Hampford: 50/92 - 54%

I'm not getting worked up yet.  That said if Jerry Meyer changes his pick from IU then I'll start to get worried.

At least for me, I have hope that Devonte Green can be our PG moving forward. Phinisee will still be a backup anyway.

And we won't have to worry about the oversign.

Romeo Langford gets full court press for Starting 2 spot.

This is kind of where I'm at right now too. Not because I'm pessimistic about Garland, but because I have hope in Green becoming a really solid PG by his Junior year.

If he goes to Vandy it probably won't be for basketball reasons, it'll be because he wants to be close to his family. In that case there's nothing we can really do.

Exactly. Some people still want family close. Its not that hard to figure out.

I've seen my brother three times in the last 3 1/2 years while he is serving his country in the armed forces. I guess I don't get all weepy being away from family.

Not everyone has your same outlook. Nothing wrong with either one.

I understand wanting family close now but I sure didn't when I was 18 lol. I could've saved a looot of money and gotten the same degree by staying home and going to IUPUI but I couldn't wait to get out on my own.
