Popular Post Class of '66 Old Fart Posted February 26, 2019 Popular Post Posted February 26, 2019 Earlier today from Corey Evans Yes, do not count out Indiana when it comes to Keion Brooks. The five-star, who is down to a final five that features Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan State, Purdue and North Carolina, made noise last week with a visit to Lexington for UK’s game against Tennessee. From there, the thought was that Kentucky was the team to beat and that a commitment was imminent. While the Wildcats have definitely made up some ground, this recruitment is not quite over just yet. I am not willing to give up on Indiana with Brooks. He, like most other elite prospects, wants to be put into the best spot to succeed in college before hopefully earning an NBA paycheck. Whether he selects the blue blood path that John Calipari can offer or the home-state option where he could play alongside good friend Trayce Jackson-Davis remains up in the air. But Indiana is still neck-and-neck with Kentucky, though one should not discount Michigan State, either. Bowhunter, JaybobHoosier, lillurk and 12 others 13 2 Quote

It has been said before but the more time that passes the better for IU. It's not a bad thing if this goes until April. He has a tough decision. Chris007, JaybobHoosier and lillurk 3 Quote

I've tried to go back and find the tweet and can't, but over the weekend I saw a tweet from one of the UK recruiting site writers and he listed UK's top targets (it was either regardless of class or just 19/20) and he had Brooks at 6th or 7th on the list. I wish I could find it, and of course that doesn't mean that's what Cal's priority list is, but it speaks to Brooks wanting to go where he's needed. ALASKA HOOSIER and JaybobHoosier 2 Quote

He's certainly not a priority to the fans....Lets not forget also that UK fans were literally tweeting Brooks that they didn't want him in Lexington Edited February 26, 2019 by Hoosier987 Napleshoosier and JaybobHoosier 2 Quote

Either way, I doubt he cares considering it's what the Kentucky coaching staff tells him (whether genuine or not) that should matter to him. Unfortunately, what his parents say matters to him as well. I hope they leave it up to him in the end. Another positive going for Indiana is that this thread has far exceeded the mandatory 100 pages. thebigweave, HoosierAloha, JaybobHoosier and 3 others 5 1 Quote

While it didn’t hurt with Romeo, Archie needs to have NBA developing success to consistently bring in top talent, especially in-state. Really, really hope Brooks comes to IU. I have no insider info about his decision, but I worry he will be a Wildcat. JVIU98 Posted February 28, 2019 Posted February 28, 2019 I am just posting to get Keion back on top of our recruiting list. Can't wait to see how this class shapes up! But there was a play in the game where Precious Achiuwa commits a pretty cheap takedown of a Lalu kid. Brooks got right in Achiuwa’s face. Didn’t backdown at all. And Achiuwa is a grown man. Hadn’t pegged Brooks for that kind of kid. Impressive. That’s just a little bit of the Fort coming out! Bring it! yogisballin, Napleshoosier and ray 2 1 Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 I think this is gonna be interesting. What's your interpretation y'all? Keion Brooks @keion_brooks If your coach don’t teach individual skills development he/she is not preparing you for the next level. Thought someone needed to hear that. Blackmon_for_3 Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 I don’t think so. Kentucky getting drilled by Tennessee when that tweet mad made and it’s fair to say UK has a lot more talent then us. We just beat the number 6 team in the nation. Crimson and Cream 1 Quote
HoosierDYT Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 Also, while Romeo has improved maybe a little bit in each area of his offensive game except three point shooting, his defense has been absolutely phenomenal. I know that was one of his perceived weaknesses going into this season, and Dakich and other commentators raves about his effort, which I contribute to Archie and the rest of the staff Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners ALASKA HOOSIER, SlamaJamaSisley, JaybobHoosier and 2 others 5 Quote

Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Free Jake!! It could be, but it would be weird to take a shot at the one coach whose team won today. Archie is also coaching the team with the least talent. Romeo's inability to get to the basket against McQuaid should not be an indictment of Archie. Yes, Romeo needs some personal skill development, but not on the finer points of basketball. He needs to improve the basic skills of dribbling and shooting. These are things Romeo should be doing on his own. And I'm sure he is and that he will improve. But there are individual improvents I think a coach should be responsible for, and some that just fall on the shoulders of players. Most of Romeo's offensive issues can be fixed with more reps. I would love to see them tweak his shot too - not bring the ball back so far, which would simplify everything - but I'm not sure that's something he wants to do Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote

Keion Brooks @keion_brooks If your coach don’t teach individual skills development he/she is not preparing you for the next level. Thought someone needed to hear that. Interesting. Isn’t that Ed Schilling’s mantra? I’ll admit, I haven’t been overly impressed with the individual development of many of our guys, but who knows if that’s about any of IU, UK, or MSU.
