Class of '66 Old Fart Posted October 12, 2018 Posted October 12, 2018 IMO it's unfortunate because as officiating goes, I think he did a fine job. His problem was always making himself the focal point and going out of his way to draw attention to himself and away from the game. Deserthoozier and ALASKA HOOSIER 1 1 Quote

That’s why it is important to build a national brand on top of attracting the best local talent. I’d like to know if Crean would still be coaching if we landed Gary Harris, Trey Lyles, Jaren Jackson, Kris Wilkes, Blueitt, Irvin etc. Crean also was not routinely landing the best guys from the DMV, and frankly was having to resort to project players.Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app mdn82, BGleas, Class of '66 Old Fart and 4 others 7 Quote

If he would have landed some of those players it would have fixed our problems but I don't think it would have completely masked our ability to adjust mid game. I'm excited about this years team because we have, what seems like, a good mixture of players. A BIG low post player, more athletic bigs and wings, shooters (big and small), dynamic guards, players willing and able to defend, etc. The one thing I'll be curious to see is who gets the ball late, JMo on the block or Romeo up top. One reason why I think last years class was so important. Got players of pretty much every type allowing us to go after studs and even if we miss we can plug a 4 star sophomore in.
