I will always really admire and respect Tom Crean as a man. Quirky personality traits and lack of consistent winning aside, he took on the program when it was in the dumps and left it much better off than what he inherited. And at the end of the day, isn’t that basically the most you can ask of a coaching hire (when a championship is obviously not in the cards anytime soon). And, I believe he is a true basketball junkie, the kind of obsessive a D1 HC should be. It’s been said on this board plenty, but in today’s CBB landscape, it’s easy to imagine Tom Crean having a ton of success. Doubt the itch to coach has gone away, but the commentating gig has to be way cushier and better for the family. Plus, the Georgia flameout may have put him on ice. 58 now. If he was wanting to get back into it, imagine this tragic story will put things into perspective for him. Glad he was there for the family. thebigweave, mamasa, craigyv88 and 8 others 11 Quote

I’d love to see ESPN really utilize him heavily in the studio. Those little 1 minute analyses of plays in multiple games going on simultaneously, I think he’s great at that stuff. Demo Posted October 26, 2024 Posted October 26, 2024 Michigan beats Toledo 96-92 in their charity exhibition. UM’s offense is a mile ahead of their defense. Their defensive communication was bad bad. WayneFleekHoosier 1 Quote
Demo Posted October 26, 2024 Posted October 26, 2024 Anybody who wondered why Woody put a lot of effort , for him, into Boogie Fland needs to flip on the Arkansas-Kansas scrimmage. KU’s missing a coup,e of guards, but Fland is getting in the lane at will. He’s electric with the ball. WayneFleekHoosier 1 Quote

Which probably could have made what they lost by. Fland and Wagner looked good though. Cal started all of his Kentucky guys with no surprise. Quote
WayneFleekHoosier Posted October 26, 2024 Posted October 26, 2024 Boogie Fland looked great. Especially offensively. So smooth. I don’t think we have a “Boogie Fland” on our roster. Quote
go iu bb Posted October 26, 2024 Posted October 26, 2024 Purdue wouldn't have been nearly as good if Edey had been officiated fairly. He won't get that benefit in the NBA. AZ Hoosier, HoosierHoopster, cybergates and 4 others 7 Quote

It was time for him to go, but he did an admirable job while he was here.Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk Home Jersey 1 Quote
steubenhoosier Posted October 26, 2024 Posted October 26, 2024 Did a Google search to find out what time the Creighton-PUke game started. One of the recommended links was… What state is Purdue in. Always the little brother. HinnyHoosier and thebigweave 2 Quote

Now he’s playing against pros - men, and now he’ll actually get officiated. Can’t wait to see him try to defend Wemby, Giannis, Joker, et al. hoosierbgh 1 Quote
steubenhoosier Posted October 28, 2024 Posted October 28, 2024 Have not seen this posted. If it was, apologize… PUke lost their exhibition game v Creighton yesterday. Smith got his, but their big guy, Bergwas in foul trouble from the onset. Ballo will eat him alive. Not convinced that they should be rated as highly as they are. Not convinced that they should be rated as highly as they are. Smith apparently looked good. TKR not bad. Jacobsen not bad. Harris and Cox not bad. Heide a no show. Colvin meh. Seems to be the consensus afterwards. But it was expected that it would be the Smith Show. steubenhoosier 1 Quote
Stuhoo Posted October 28, 2024 Posted October 28, 2024 Ole Miss kinda curb stomped Illinois 91-74 in an exhibition yesterday. Illinois had a ton of turnovers. Ole Miss was up 28-9 and it was a double digit lead for the entire rest of the game. Josh 1 Quote
