It really is pretty amazing. Dude was on Calipari's bench all those years. Was at Oregon with Ernie Kent. It's not like he'd never seen a program run successfully. Yeah it's a big move sliding over from the 2nd chair to the big one, but, Jesus.

Kentucky Weslyan basketball is DII, and have eight DII national championships.  However, the program has taken a downward turn since their last natty in 2001.  But to your point, 7-37 from three, on the road, against a team in a higher division, and the win.....yikes!

The Calipari buyout is insane. I have a handful of UK friends and it truly is split; some would rather be mediocre with him than part ways. The buyout + a suitable replacement will hold up any action IMO. Although, if relationship with AD is poor as reported it certainly is plausible. I wonder if this would be Cal's last stop or if he'd move on... to Louisville.
