Wiscy will “figure it out” before Big 1.0 season starts and finish upper half. By figuring it out, the refs will realize they won’t be able to call every slap, shove, bump, flop, etc. from Wiscy.

Can’t believe the bellyflop that Martin is doing there. Thought he’d be a guy who could finally get Mizzou in on the premium St Louis kids. He knows everybody. But, yeah, no. He has 1 St Louis kid on this year’s roster, not 1 of the 10 best kids in town last year, and 1 under the radar ‘22 that I need to see. The best kids don’t even give Mizzou a sniff. Travis Ford is kicking his @$$.

Two Duke basketball players face charges in Orange County following a driving while impaired arrest early Sunday morning. According to court records, Michael Savarino, Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski’s grandson, was arrested for DWI while star freshman Paolo Banchero is charged with aiding and abetting DWI. The N.C. Highway Patrol made the arrest in Orange County at 1:10 a.m. Sunday.

“We are reviewing a legal matter involving two members of the men’s basketball team,” Krzyzewski said in a statement released by Duke athletics to the N&O. “Any further actions as a result of this situation will ultimately be determined by the Vice President/Director of Athletics and University officials.” The 20-year-old Savarino has a court date on Dec. 9 on his DWI charge. Banchero, who just turned 19 last Friday, has a Dec. 8 court date. Their status for Tuesday night’s home game with Gardner-Webb is uncertain.

N.C. Highway Patrol spokesman Chris Knight told the News & Observer that Savarino was stopped for a stop sign violation while driving on Brushy Creek Road west of Hillsborough. Savarino is the son of Debbie Krzyzewski Savarino, who is the oldest daughter of Krzyzewski and his wife, Mickie. Debbie Savarino is an assistant athletics director at Duke. Michael Savarino joined the Blue Devils as a walk-on in 2019 and was elevated to a scholarship player this past offseason. He saw his first game action of this season on Friday night, playing four minutes in Duke’s 82-56 win over Army West Point at Cameron Indoor Stadium.

Banchero was named the ACC’s preseason player of the year and is projected to be one of the top picks in next summer’s NBA Draft if he leaves school after one season at Duke, as expected. Banchero scored 18 points with seven rebounds in Duke’s 67-56 win over Campbell on Saturday night at Cameron Indoor Stadium. Savarino did not play in the game.

Sounds like an 1 game indefinite suspension is incoming. Gotta give credit to the officer for enforcing the law and not letting these two off easy.

Yes, kudos to the police.

If they had been pulled over by referees the alcohol, not the players, would have been charged.

Should be about 10 games, if not more. It makes me absolutely sick to my stomach at how this country views drunk driving. Personally if I am a coach, you're never playing for me again. I don't care who you are.

Probably only get a 1 game suspension. Or worse, won't be able to start, but will get the minutes he plays

Jeezus -- much nepotism going on down there in Durham?

Why in the world would that kid need a scholarship? His family has more money than God, and would guess with Mommy and Gramps on staff, he can probably go to school for a hefty discount -- and if not, they could afford tuition may times over. Give the scholarship to someone who needs it. I'd be willing to bet that little sh-t isn't good enough to play on a Division I team, let alone earning a scholarship to perhaps the country's most elite program. 

All these years later, I still don't understand why Pat Knight was on scholarship. He really was not a B1G-caliber player. I'm willing to excuse that a little more because I believe rosters were allowed 15 scholarships back than -- as opposed to the 13 now -- so it wasn't as "wasted" as it would be today.
