Which leads me to wonder why we are always fussing about where player minutes are going to come from?  Most kids these days don't have the drive to play extended minutes night in and night out, especially in the Big.  We should have a quality back up for each of our bigs.

"We should have a quality back up for each of our bigs." yes, please and thank you

This is pretty wild. Don’t know anything about him other than he’s supposedly an uberprospect, but playing a full year at the absolute highest level of CBB as a 17yo seems a little nuts, though Quaintance did it at ASU and held up.

Guess it depends on the prospect. Luka Doncic played pro ball at 17 and was league MVP at 18. Wemby was similar but not quite as advanced, iirc. If this kid is on that level, he’ll somewhere between all-American and dominate even at 17.

As much as I hate the older euros coming in, this is the cool part of NIL, imo. It would’ve been awesome to watch Luka dominate college ball for 2 years—especially if he were in an IU jersey!

Hadn’t thought about it quite like that. Can you imagine what Doncic would have done to East Bumphrey Nowehere St in some buy game in November?

This guy is a beast but watch Paul Osaruyi. If we got him to reclass. He's at another level athletically.

Yeah, athletically Osaruyi is an absolute freak show. He’s about as prototypical as NBA 4’s get. And the present skill is surprisingly good for a kid that young.

I love Dan. Got to talk to him on a couple occasions and even got to play some pickup games with him when I was younger. My uncle, Louie Dampier is really good friends with Dan. They played together with the Colonels back in the ABA.

Love that. Old dudes with zero F’s left to give going off are the most entertaining thing in the current environment. Take no prisoners.

Duke is unbelievably loaded this year.  An absolute crazy roster.  I don’t see how a lot of these guys get the minutes they expect.  But they’ll be well compensated.  And I guess that’s enough. Incredible depth.

Just hope they don't choke when it matters.

I guess. They’ll be a 1 or 2 seed. And that will make for a fun season.   Fans are spoiled.  They should enjoy what they have because it can go away and never seemingly comeback.

Looking forward to hearing about our non conference schedule at some point.

UConn has games vs Kansas, vs Ohio State, @ Arizona, vs Illinois (in Chicago), vs Duke (Vegas), and vs Michigan (Boston). Also finalizing a game vs UVA at MSG and rumors they're trying to add Arkansas to the schedule.

If you cap it schools will just go back to cheating.  Ie not capped

The difference is now they know just how much cash these schools are pumping through their programs. There's money to be made from offenders and repeat offenders. The "governing body" could actually be motivated to give a crap. But probably not.

*Edit

And looking further into it, if it is a true endowment investment (which it would almost have to be at 20 million), I'm not sure they can throw 25% of the return at NIL. A lot to sort out.

Oh, and Elon is suing OpenAI because they took his 38 million investment dollars as a non-profit and flipped into a for-profit now worth 86 billion. So...brakes pumped. For now.

I’d still rather suffer through the last 25 years of being an Indiana basketball fan than have to claim Mr. Tapout t-shirt.

Tropical leaves tattoo?  He walked into a tattoo parlor and said hey I’m looking to get a fern on my arm.  Lol.
