Now far be it for me to tell the geniuses at cow pasture state up in West Lansing what to do, but couldn’t they solve their little quandary by paying a couple of their current guys a little more?

I think maybe Izzo has entered his crotchety old man phase like Knight did.

Except most crotchety old men would have benched Fears for his actions on the court.

Former Hoosier C.J. Gunn is gonna give the Association a try.

No offense, but I got $10 that says he doesn't get drafted.

Wondering why all these guys with no eligibility left are "declaring" for the draft? Maybe to make their plans public in light of the impending "5-in-5" proposal?

Pete Thamel -

NCAA President Charlie Baker told ESPN today that he’s “pretty optimistic” that the new aged-based eligibility proposal will happen. The DI Board of Directors met today and will recommend to not implement this rule retroactively for graduates/exhausted eligibility. “If you’ve used up your eligibility, you’ve used it up,” Baker told ESPN of the tenor of the discussion.

So, even when the NCAA is about to blindly stumble into finally getting something right they absolutely go out of their way to then F it up.

How are you supposed to prove you didn’t tamper?  How does that even work. What went through their heads?

Been thinking about that since I read it. The only thing I can of is that as a condition for the player being eligible the school has to sign an affidavit swearing that they did not tamper and then should any allegation down the road prove to be true the school is hit with a ginormous penalty of some kind. Really not sure how else it would work.

Moving to 76 for next year.

Between this and the transfer eligibility stuff, the B1G and SEC should break away from the NCAA immediately. Bring the Big 12 and ACC. Invite the Big East and midmajors for the basketball tourney.

NCAA is just intent on screwing everything up and grabbing every last red cent until the inevitable happens anyways. Crapping on the basketball tourney should be the final straw.
