SIAP...

THIS is why Cignetti is winning... enough of the SEC bullshite...

Quote

"I mean we don’t run a hype machine up here in the Midwest," Cignetti said on Thursday at Big Ten media days. "We believe everything’s earned, not given. And when we fall short, we say, ‘We fell short.’ We don’t cry a river, whine and complain. All right? And that’s why we’re the best."

  • He didn't even play in the spring game while recovering from injury.
  • He is a true freshman.

And yet, Cig has mentioned him repeatedly as part of the tight end conversation.

It sure seems like we brought Schott in to be the starter, but 6'2", 245lb true freshman Trevor Gibbs from Crown Point is one to watch. He's also a mature personality in interviews.

Schott I think was the safe this gives us somebody who can hold down the fort. But Gibbs might be the more potential guy that Cig was hoping would develop

Schott is projected as extremely talented. He is most likely to be the guy.

Barker seems like an afterthought that is big enough to be an effective blocker.

Thiry keeps getting the 'not ready' tag from Cig, even after a year+ with the program.

Gibbs? Even as a true freshman he's giving off those "we got something here" vibes.

Twitter rumblings of a(n) addition(s) to the DL, including from assistant S&C coach Daniel Johnson. My money remains on Wyatt under the assumption that Daley suffered a patellar tendon rupture, though I don’t think I ever saw that confirmed.

Even if it’s “just” Wyatt, that room is going to be unbelievable. Added to Tobi, Burnham, Ndukwe, Obiazor? And that’s just guys on the outside. My goodness.

Just saw that and came to see if anyone had the scoop on who we added. Scary if true. Take notice because our DE’s will come in waves.

Any time you can add a contributor from a NC team you do it.  Just so happens they are ours

I'm hearing Wyatt, Daley, and Brady will ALL be back this year.  This comes from someone close to the team.  No word on Staes.

Wha-huh?!!?

That would be notable, to say the least. And Wyatt would likely be starting the season 100% healthy.

We would be loaded and deep at DE with Wyatt. Daley would be huge but he'd be coming back from a serious injury if the torn patellar is true.

Wow.  They don’t really seem like the biggest positions of need but that level of talent is impressive.
