Okay, that's unreal.  Anyone here who has kids....we're good parents.  I know I'm a good dad and I know all of you are.  But that's the bar.  No wonder those boys are....exactly who they are.   I am without words.    Thank you for posting.

Anyone who reads that, then  compares him to Diego Pavia and HIS crazy mom yet still votes for Pavia should be immediately barred from ever discussing sports ever again.

I had just finished reading this and drying my eyes when I saw you'd already posted the link.  What an absolutely incredible family.  Regardless of how the rest of the season plays out, we've been blessed to have the Mendoza family associated with our university.

Ok, here goes.  My old lady has MS, and as we watched his mom the last few weeks, she noticed his mom doesn't even have good use of her arms --  She can't hug her boy.  She's going thru a lot, but you wouldn't even know it -- always a smile.

Surprises me a little. Would have bet on him being the kid who upon being nominated would have memorized every Heisman winner ever and every other thing.

Fernando: Well,  when Pete Dawkins won the Heisman representing Iowa in 1958 he donated it to the Children’s Hospital next to the Stadium*. I was so moved upon reading that that I’m planning to start a foundation involving all Heisman winners to fight the scourge of……..

* Dawkins did not, in fact, do that.

Funny enough, I think I read that the tradition of the school getting a trophy started with Steve Spurrier donating his back to UF in the 60s.

Very nice move by Spurrier. And Fernando just redeemed himself by mentioning that Davey O’Brien played in the 1930’s after winning the O’Brien. That’s my boy.
