8bucks Posted January 22 Posted January 22 Any idea if we have any upcoming visits from portal or even HS kids? I mean the staff hasn’t had anything to do for a few days now come on lol Quote

Class of '66 Old Fart Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Indiana freshman WR Bruno Massel has entered the portal, his rep tells @chris_hummer and@mzenitz . The 5-foot-11, 195-pound WR has 4 years of remaining eligibility. Quote

I just hope for the ones that go they get drafted high to good teams. Quote
Jeff Flabjohns Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Not that this is reliable in any way, but I’m seeing Omar being projected anywhere from back of the first round (CBS) to 4th round. Would be so huge to have him back, but if he’s confident he’ll be picked by round 3 he should go for it Crimson and Cream, Stuhoo, skhoosier2 and 1 other 4 Quote

That's a stacked WR room. Omar would be extraordinary, but I'll be much, much more jazzed if Carter Smith and Tyrique Tucker return. And FWIW, Mel Kiper (I know, I know, but gotta have a baseline) Does not have Omar among his top 13 named WRs, Has Carter Smith as his 12th best OT, Has Tyrique as his 12th best DT skhoosier2 and JaybobHoosier 2 Quote

And basically were last year... I don't really have any question our OL will better. Lynch, Brunner, Smith, and Evans all a year older... Ajani, etc. DL will be VERY good. DT will be better... Tucker, Landino, Tulsa transfer a year older, I think our DE spot takes a TINY step back, but still very good, experienced, and deep. JMO-- Wyatt, Kamara, and Daley last year is a silly position group. Stuhoo and Home Jersey 2 Quote
Jeff Flabjohns Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Watching some season recap videos I had forgotten just how disruptive Wyatt was. Beast Carter Smith kind of announced his return during a post championship on-field interview right? Hopefully Tucker is back CSP and BtownStrength 2 Quote
Jeff Flabjohns Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Yeah, even without Omar the WR group is an embarrassment of riches as it stands. Two elite guys and then Morris/Preston who have talent and production WayneFleekHoosier 1 Quote

He’s quick out of breaks but he doesn’t seem to separate on shear speed. Wondering if he’s 4.6ish, something like that. Quote

Other than the Fletcher TD, every single one of the offensive plays that kept them in the game were because we couldn't get to Beck. Jeff Flabjohns, Crimson and Cream, CSP and 5 others 8 Quote

We really didn't put much pressure on him and still shut them down for the most part. We probably would have had 1 or 2 more interceptions with consistent pressure. Mostly played coverage, very little sending extra guys, just tried to confuse Beck flooding the zones. Probably thought it would be difficult to get home against their line so why waste extra defenders. And Beck showed some escapability in the CFP up to that point. Strategy worked brilliantly in the 1H, they found some counters in the 2H and then it ultimately worked on the last drive. Haines said as much regarding the last drive. J34 and Jeff Flabjohns 2 Quote
