He said it’s been a long time since they’ve had a qb that started more than 1 year. Idk if that means they started transfers or seniors…it just stuck out to me that he said that thinking about Alberto. Napleshoosier 1 Quote

You do this, you do that, and you’ll get there type of thing. Good to know they prefer senior level starters - would set alberto’s expectations. skhoosier2, J34 and HoosierSadaseci 3 Quote

rcbowla Posted January 13 Posted January 13 Not sure if he slipped up or what exactly but Wiltfong said Alberto Mendoza would be in the portal. Said this on a Rivals pod he does. Don't shoot the messenger. BtownStrength 1 Quote

I made some comment like “looking forward to seeing Alberto start someday,” and their response was kind of awkward. I wouldn’t read much into it, but it did make me think he wasn’t interested in waiting around another year. Hopefully I’m wrong about that. Quote

The entire Mendoza family knows exactly how this whole thing works. They know nothing is ever handed to them. It's been said time and time again, that Coach Cignetti want production OVER potential. In my heart of hearts, I would love for Alberto to be the new face of IU football, but something tells me, it won't be this year. jmo I can totally see him wanting to come back IF he decides to transfer. str8baller and 68Hoosier 2 Quote
Stuhoo Posted January 13 Posted January 13 Makhai Frazier to IU is a thing. Not a sure thing, but a reasonably likely thing. 5'10", 218 with two years of eligibility remaining. Will be in Bloomington on Thursday. https://www.espn.com/college-football/player/_/id/5084286/makhi-frazier ronzo4IU, HoosierSadaseci, Class of '66 Old Fart and 2 others 3 2 Quote

JSHoosier Posted January 13 Posted January 13 Seems pretty clear the staff wants to add another running back. Beebe, Richard, Martin, Cuono already on the roster so seems like someone would be leaving. Pagoda 1 Quote
Hoosierfan2017 Posted January 13 Posted January 13 Alberto isn’t his brother. He’s several inches shorter and doesn’t have the arm. Maybe he can be a successful college quarterback, but the position is far too important to risk going into the year with an unknown guy, particularly in the portal when you can go out and get a guy with nearly 10k career yards at the Big 12 level. skhoosier2, J34, go iu bb and 1 other 4 Quote

It's a position that gets beat up regularly...See Beebe CSP and Artie86 2 Quote
