Don't think it can be understated how awesome Rourke was in year 1 of Cig. I'm thinking there will be a decent gap between the two, and I'm pretty high on Mendoza. Yea. KR was really good. Fernando probably won't match him in some aspects. My hope is Fernando can give us another dimension with his mobility, which can hopefully help us fare better vs. the top-10 defenses/teams we struggled against last year. He's got some big game experience and he was the most (or close to it) sacked QB last year. Our OL, running game, and coaching staff should be a whole new world for him. I can't wait to see to what extent all of that elevates his game this season... ebridges24 and Home Jersey 2 Quote

Purdue has quite the difficult hole to dig out from, which is great. - Coming off a garbage 1-11* last year, only win vs. an FCS team *They played five teams that made the playoff last year and there were outscored 261-17. lmao! - Their portal was really bad -- what talent they had mostly left, and not much came in. Congrats to all the players that escaped to other programs! - They have the capped rev share all schools do, which helps them quite a bit, but their FB NIL is around the bottom of the conference. This is a major ongoing problem for them. Their fans are praying this NIL clearinghouse has teeth... it won't. - It also doesn't help West Lafayette is an unappealing destination for players - They have to be praying Odom is very good, he's probably okay at best Good luck Boilees. Their '25 schedule is tough. They could win at Northwestern (who won't be very good), though that temporary stadium is weird place to play right now. They could beat a mediocre Buttgers team at home. Aside from those games, any win would be a pretty big upset to huge upset (USC, IL, at MN, at Mich, OSU, at UW, IU). I'm going to guess they eek out a win vs. NW or Rutgers and win one (1) total B1G game. They could play us close for a few quarters since it's a rivalry game at their place. What matters though is their their program should hopefully remain deep in the mud with slim chances to materially improve any time soon given their program problems will be tough to fix. Agree with all of this… except? They have all but a zero chance of playing us close for a few quarters at their place. Maybe for a few minutes. It will be a nationally televised Thanksgiving weekend Friday night game; we will be coming off of a bye week; we will also very much have something to play for; Cig will show zero mercy and give zero f**ks; and we are so incredibly better than they will be. It will be epically enjoyable. Pagoda and taco corp 2 Quote
Demo Posted July 3 Posted July 3 Prince’s prediction for IUFB’s record. Figured he should be included here since he’s, ya know, everywhere now. That kid is killing me. taco corp, hoosierfan6157, Hovadipo and 4 others 7 Quote

Victor Posted July 7 Posted July 7 10-2. That first half of the conference schedule is brutal even for the Ohio states and oregons. Quote
TTT Posted July 11 Posted July 11 Pre-season schedule is worrisome to prepare for regular big ten season. However, regular season over and under 12-0. Prove it wrong. LamarCheeks 1 Quote
LamarCheeks Posted July 11 Posted July 11 If we can get through that brutal nonconference slate unscathed, I'm guessing 8-4. OliviaPope40, go iu bb, Stuhoo and 2 others 5 Quote

Lebowski Posted August 8 Posted August 8 Possible record scenarios leading up to the big games. Illinois - 9/20 IUFB most likely will be 3-0 ILL might already have one loss against Duke. It's likely both teams will be unbeaten. My hope is IUFB is 3-0 and the Illini are at least 2-1 going into this week. It'll be a game most likely competing for a College GameDay/Big Noon Kick Off weekend should those records hold up. The other possible games competing this week are Florida at Miami, Oregon State at Oregon, Washington at Wash St. at Iowa - 9/27 IUFB might have one loss against ILL 3-1 or come into the game 4-0 Iowa has two road games against rival Iowa St. and Rutgers that could give them a challenge. Road games tend to be a bit of a wildcard and if they trip up with either or both of these two it wouldn't surprise me. However, if I had to guess, they'll probably be coming into the game either undefeated or with one loss. My hope is IUFB is 4-0 and Iowa is at least 3-1 or 2-2 going into this week. at Oregon - 10/11 IUFB 5-0, 4-1, 3-2 Ducks have a pretty interesting schedule. They host Oklahoma St 9/6, play a noon game at Northwestern 9/13, host rival Oregon St 9/20, and a night game at Penn St 9/27. (West coast schools traveling has its own set of challenges and they have a very big game in three different time zones from home.) Like IUFB, they have a bye week going into the game. On paper, Penn St. is their toughest game on their schedule, if they stay undefeated they are a clear favorite to defend the Big Ten title. However, I don't think they'll get through this schedule unscathed. If I had to guess, 1 loss minimum, 2 losses max. My hope is IUFB is 5-0 and Ducks are at least 3-2 or 4-1 going into this week. It'll be a game most likely competing for a College GameDay/Big Noon Kick Off weekend should those records hold up. The other possible games competing this week are South Carolina at LSU, Florida at Texas A&M, OSU at Illinois. at Penn St. 11/8 IUFB 9-0, 8-1, 7-2, 6-3 or the wheels have fallen completely off Penn St has a schedule they should be able to handle but the games that might challenge them are Oregon 9/27, at UCLA 10/4, at Iowa 10/18 and at O$U 11/1. The only two games that might trip them up are the Ducks and Bucks. So it's possible they could be coming into this week with 2 losses. However, they'll likely be unbeaten or have only one loss. My hope is IUFB is 9-0 and State is at least 6-2 going into this week. An on paper likely scenario is IUFB is 8-1 or 7-2 and State is 8-0 or 7-1. It'll be a really big game and most likely be a College GameDay/Big Noon Kick Off weekend should those records hold up. All kinds of possibilities can happen but the best case scenarios here really look doable should they compete and stay healthy like they did last year. Big Ten road games are tough and who knows how IUFB will handle them. It does look like that with every big game here there's a real possibility that all the teams will have already have a loss or two under their belt. Dave from Dayton and Home Jersey 2 Quote
IUFootballHappyHappyJoyJoy Posted August 22 Posted August 22 I've been telling myself all offseason that 8-4 is the safe choice. I doubt we'll repeat the CFP appearance, but we'll definitely make a run for a New Year's Six Bowl, and who knows? We'll finally get that win. Quote
