Kenny Johnson seems like a pretty mediocre hire from the outside. It doesn’t seem that large staff payroll really got us too far.

Well, dude’s been previously hired by Crean, Cooley and Rick freaking Pitino. So some pretty good coaches think he’s a pretty good coach. I suppose we’ll see.

what's Bargen's connection to Crean?

Graduated from Marquette in 1999, the year Crean was brought in. It's a tenuous connection at best but there were a few weeks in which they were on campus together haha

IMO, the issue of guys like this (and Sampson, Pitino, Wade, Sean Miller, Self and their ilk) is NOT the specific rule that they broke... it's the fact that they broke the rules to gain an advantage. The fact that these clowns think the rules don't apply to themselves is the disgusting and disqualifying issue for me.

Well when a rule against paying players is actually deemed illegal through the justice system, the issue isn’t the coaches that broke the rules it was those who imposed the rule and then those that followed it without questioning the actual merits of it. So for decades people profiteered off that system. Now others are profiting.

What specifically about Kenny suggests we’re serious about winning?

He's a bag man with lots of east coast (and in particular DMV) connections. He'll help bring in big time talent from that region.

It’s pretty crazy to continue to defend the rules set forth by an organization whose entire model for over a century was ruled to be in violation of anti-trust laws by the highest court in the land.
