Saw that. 6 years. So I imagine he’s lead recruiter no matter where he is. Strictly wishcasting here, but a guy like that and Murphy on staff would probably be fairly nuts from a recruiting perspective.

I'm guessing decisions are made, portal players being communicated with and everything is fine. We all want to know but in the grand scheme our knowledge of what's going on doesn't mean squat.

I wouldn't worry about staff announcements.  He has an idea of his main coaching staff - 3--4 coaches. The rest can come at a later time.

Couple of potential assistants may be affiliated with teams still in the NCAA tournament and won't announce or leave until that team is beaten.

There is pressure for sure on him to land players in the portal to make the dance. When you look at Kentucky, BYU, Louisville. First year at a new school, made the dance. 

Darian has to make the dance next year or the seat will be warm.

I would bet CDD keeps a couple of staff members to ease the transition as well as give input on potential returning players. Hope Hulls & Calbert can be retained.

Dude could probably go to the Hypr and find guys he could coach up to make the dance.  I am fairly confident we'll be there next year.  :)

DeVries and Dolson spoke to the Indy Star: 

He anticipates everything will "come together pretty quickly," but IU will likely hold off on any official announcements until the staff is completed.

"The pieces are aligned, it's just a matter of time to get things done and finalize everything," DeVries said. 

DeVries also told the Star he would be hiring a General Manager of sorts but that position would not be announced with the rest of the staff:

"We are looking into that like everybody in college sports," DeVries said. "Everybody is trying to figure out how to best utilize that position. It's becoming more and more common, but what does that job description really look like? What's their role for us? And how do we want to best utilize that position."

So...he knows who he is hiring for his staff and this would indicate the people he is hiring have agreed to it but they are waiting until everyone is free/done playing. My guess on the staff (based on reading between the lines, a bit of sourced information that makes me guess and just plain guessing): Nick Norton, Drew Adams, Chester Frazier, Preston Murphy, Mitch Blalock from Creighton.

I do think it is very likely many of those guys are already working on recruiting and the dominoes will start to fall very shortly after April 1 (Cincinnati plays in the Crown on April 1 against DePaul and I think Alabama loses to Duke and will be done this weekend). The big question immediately after that is: who do those assistants bring with them? Cincinnati has two really good incoming recruits, West Virginia had three good ones and there are indications guys like Sencire Harris and Hansberry are likely following Frazier, Alabama has a top five class and a bunch of really good young players. This feels like a calm before the storm period.

Well that's good. That feels like an accountant positioned between the collectives, the AD and the recruiting staff.

So Did someone say Frazier won’t stay on with Hodges? If that’s the case does everyone think Frazier will come to IU? If so, I would think someone would leak that soon

That's interesting that the GM would report to the coach.  Seems like maybe he/she should have a different title, not that it matters.  Just from a business perspective seems odd to me
