A report of him saying “no” a few days ago sounds like it could have been along the lines of SD saying, “hey, I know we’ve discussed this in the past and you’ve said you’re happy in Boston, but I think we’ve got our guy unless something’s changed.  Just thought I’d give one last chance.”

Having donors think that Brad Stevens was still in play until the last moment was to IU’s advantage.  There’s no benefit to Brad mulling this over for months and playing cat and mouse with IU that I can see.

In any case—on to a new era for the cream and crimson.

I passed the bookstore I heard some students talking to the bookstore lady, an IU fan, about IU's new direction.

I proceeded and thought, I wanted Stevens badly as well as many others, but when you have to wait, and I mean really wait, for an answer from a potential coach to come and be the next coach at Indiana University, there could be a slight red flag or problem.

Just seeing a few pics of Darian on his way into our storied Assembly Hall, in his "All Business" suit, wearing a telling smile from ear to ear,.....says a lot.

 

 

There was no waiting. Stevens made it clear on 2/14 that he wasn't a candidate for the IU job. He did the same four years ago.

I think we should start it and post my most outlandish reasons he should be fired. Like his son isn't even wearing a suit and the coach has a crooked IU lapel pin which just shows the disrespect to the university. Has the man even ever been to Nick's? Fireable offense.
