Pagoda Posted March 19 Posted March 19 7 minutes ago, Trish said: Exactly. Did Dolson promise them a better suite for football games in exchange for 6 million dollars? He got folks to pay $15M for Allen’s buyout, which as much as I like Scott, was a buyout Scott was responsible for. That must have been a tough sell lol. Honestly I don’t know how much of Devries is covered by donations vs other revenue sources like media rights increases that are coming. It’s a good question, the athletic dept is always a bit opaque to outsiders like me. thebigweave, VFury, Trish and 1 other 4 Quote

Let’s hope the buyout terms for Darian are reasonable. Lastly, no more one year extensions have two years, Dolson. Doubt IU would fire a guy before year 4–even in this modern environment—so you just really need to see what years 5 and 6 are in terms of guaranteed money. Quote

We'll see. Dude, DeVries himself said in the press conference that IU was respectful of him during the process as he was still coaching. He openly stated that IU courted him while he was coaching at WVU. This was in the works for weeks. WVU insiders confirmed that he had given IU a "hard yes" sometime last week, and that IU had been in touch with him going back at least a month, maybe longer. This wasn't a panic move. This was many weeks, maybe months, in the works. This was who Scott targeted, for a variety of reasons. Just go listen to the introductory press conference. I know this is just a snippet, but MAN, it will be so refreshing seeing a team that plays hard and looks well coached!!! If you’re wanting to see what it could and most likely, will look like, ….it’s a must watch! akumanina 1 Quote

Then he was a deer in the headlights. Buckner jumped in and pulled Woody out of his butt. This hire was another panicked Scott Dolson pulling a late Monday night move that Pam wouldn't say no to. If DeVries doesn't win the hs coaches over in S. Indiana he'll lose the state and you can start the clock. Your opinion. Good for you. :) Quote

Knight coached at Army which was extremely difficult to recruit to. Painter had a bunch of top Indiana recruits land in his lap while Indiana was dealing with the Sampson fallout. Also I question some of these stats. I questioned Greg Gard's win % and just checked and it was 62% through his first 7 seasons. So don't take this list as gospel. hper50 1 Quote

Good. Woodson never should've offered him. He sucks. Funny thing is that now he's getting lots of interest from other programs. Woody played 900 IQ chess on that one lol Quote

One or two missed shots away from winning that game. Miami would go on to beat IU to a pulp en route to the Final Four that year. Drake gave them their toughest game of the tourney until UConn. Popular Post Artie86 Posted March 19 Popular Post Posted March 19 …..I think we all need to get used to Coach DeVries seeking out and landing the type of players that fit and work well in HIS system and HIS locker room. That was emphasized several times in his press conference. He will have a TON of NIL money to spend, but it HAS to be the right fit and a cohesive group to work. (Sound familiar, Coach Cig?) I hope he guts the roster and keeps Sisley and Goode. VFury, taco corp, thebigweave and 11 others 14 Quote
