Not to brag or anything...

But Anthony Leal is indeed a B1G caliber player, as I said many years ago.

Thanks.  I always forget who was his biggest fans way back when. He’s a good defender at this level.

Fwiw. If you like watching Leal on D you would love Tony Bennett at IU. Basically five guys playing perfectly positioned defense, not fouling and forcing the opponent into low efficiency shots. Leal is really smart that way.

Not sure if it was mentioned anywhere, but could our poor first 30 minutes be attributed to coming back from the West Coast? Ever since Purdue lost to OSU at home it's something people started paying attention to.

I've loved watching Leal this year. The thing I don't understand though... Wasn't he a shooter coming out of high school? I don't expect him to be a go to guy on offense, but he's turned into a D only guy for the most part.

Minutes per game for the year (in games that players played in):

  • Ballo 29.2 (30 games)
  • Rice 27.5 (31 games)
  • Galloway 27.4 (31 games)
  • Goode 26.5 (31 games)
  • Mgbako 25.3 (31 games)
  • Reneau 23.2 (25 games)
  • Leal 21.3 (24 games)
  • Carlyle 16.6 (24 games)
  • Tucker 16.6 (23 games)
  • Hatton 6.5 (18 games)

By the end of the year it was an eight man rotation with Carlyle getting mostly spot minutes.  I would expect that's the rotation you'll see in the BTT and in the NCAA (assuming).

What's sad, is that I'm pretty at the start of the season Woodson anticipated playing Goode in his second group and only playing Leal spot minutes.  Woodson finally figured out that we are a more competitive team playing Leal and Goode more minutes.  I doubt we'll ever know if Woodson came to this on his own or finally listened to one of his assistants or consultants.

1. The Hall was loud

2. It hasn't sunk in yet give me a day or two

3. Team fought the whole game didn't roll over

4. I about lost it on the last two senior intros I tried not to crack

Crowd was good especially after the 10-0 run in 2nd half. Would say about 95% capacity
