Give him all the monies…

No idea what the story here is, but I reached out to a friend who’s pretty connected to Mizzou sports and he shot back, “Didn’t even include him in the class. Nobody ever thought he was coming.” 5-star bball recruiting is bad, but 5-star football recruiting is orders of magnitude worse.

True but we’ll have to get a couple of these guys eventually.  Might as well be at the most important position in college football (debatable for the NFL).

The only recruiting worth following is out of the portal. The other day I saw a tweet about a kid that basically read “(Player), 4-star (school) commit, will decide between (schools) on signing day.” I don’t remember the details because they weren’t worth remembering. He’ll probably flip 3 more times before Wednesday.

I like the optimism in here for 10 reg season wins next year but I see the absolute best case scenario is 9 and more likely 7 or 8.

How so.  Likely favored in all home games. That’s 7 wins

Favored at Purdue and At Maryland.

At Iowa is winnable.

At Oregon and At PSU are the hills to climb.

Goal should be to 9 wins minimum next year.

It all depends on how well we can replace our players that leave.

If our team is just as good next year, then 10 wins is hardly farfetched.  Our schedule is only slightly more difficult next year as we pretty much just switch out Michigan and OSU for Oregon and Penn State as our hard games.  This isn't playing in the Big Ten East anymore.

6'6 311, that's a big boy. It'd be nice to have some size like that on the line.

Starters
RT Trey Wedig - 6'7" 319lbs
LT  Carter Smith - 6'5" 308lbs

Backups
Cooper Jones - 6'5" 314lbs
Austin Barrett - 6'6" 308lbs

Redshirts (they'll probably add pounds during the offseason)
Evan Lawrence 6'6" 281lbs
Austin Leibfried 6'6" 288lbs

I think we're pretty solid with size, it's just depth and development. And who knows how many in the OL room decide to transfer out.

Hopefully, Oregon and Penn State will have most of their starters gone to the NFL.

That opens the door to what happened to Michigan and Washington this year.

Which could mean that those games are put into tossups.

Let's go undefeated next season!

Honestly, if we played both at home, I think we’d beat Oregon and Penn State this year.

Home against Illinois will be tougher than you may think. @Iowa does seem to be winnable but I'm not overly confident. I figure they'll lose one of those at least which is why I think 9 is attainable but I also wouldn't be surprised with 7 or 8. A lot of roster movement to come so I will likely change my expectations

Before this season started, what did you think the best scenario was?

I said here 8 wins and possibly 9. Had a bet with OSU buddy that IU would get 8. Everyone in the room laughed at me. You can bet your @$$ I was talking all sorts of **** to them
