I apologize if this has already been mentioned, but how much of a difference OSU losing their starting center affect the game Saturday and the spread?

They are down 3 starting linemen. So i would say it plays a factor. But i also would assume the O$U would have other 5 stars on the bench. Either way, it will affect them

Saw this fun little tidbit on Twitter -- er X: Toiletmakers lost a basketball game before we lost a football game!

giphy.gif

Technically our basketball team will get a conference win before their football team to boot. Assuming they go 0-9 which is looking like a lock unless a meteor hits a team facility.

Better yet … skip to the 32:10 mark!

Urban Meyer has the ******* balls to dare to ask Cig about IU’s strength of schedule.

First Cig absolutely destroys the question.

Then he goes one step farther by saying “let’s just call it what it is.” He then proceeds to destroy the agendas of some tv networks. All the while, former Cig Bama player Mark Ingram is loving it: “Tell ‘em Coach!!” sayeth the Bama rb!!

This is a ******* hot Cig moment.

The thing about Urban asking if we are going to upgrade the schedule is that he should realize most of the schedule is provided by the league. I will admit/agree that our OOC games were too “cup cakey” but the BT’s schedule is what it is. It’s not our fault UM and UW took a step back.

In any case there is no need to take Urbans advice about upgrading next years schedule as the BT already has us playing at Iowa, at Oregon and at PSU.  YIKES.

Glad someone has the cajones to say it like it is. ESPN has been dirty and sad for a long time, long before the SEC bias but that is part of the equation.

Indiana vs Auburn basketball on ESPN last season Exhibit 1A.

Other than that question, Meyer was pretty quiet during the interview. He's been high on IU for most of the season but that seems to have changed since they appear to be an actual threat to OSU.

Here's an example of how they manipulate the narrative on schedules: they were talking about Alabama coming out of their bye week and beating LSU. They ignore that that was the 2nd game of a 3 game losing streak for LSU. Instead, it was something like, "Alabama took the soul out of them since they went and lost to Florida the next week." Basically giving Alabama credit for the Florida win against LSU, too. Ignite the losing streak, give credit for 2 of those games to Alabama. Got it.

We should probably credit the 1st game of that 3 game LSU losing streak to Alabama as well since LSU was probably looking ahead to that game instead of concentrating on A&M. So Alabama sinks get credit for 2 or 3 wins against LSU instead of just the 1.

They love bloviating about the SEC. Tennessee played Chattanooga, Kent St and UTEP and lost to an unranked team. If the SEC played 9 conference games like a real conference so many of these “two loss SEC teams should be in the playoffs” takes would be gone. You don’t see Big 10 teams playing Mercer or UMass in late November.

I had no problem with a 12-1 SEC champ Alabama getting into the playoff over FSU last year. You only could pick 4 teams and Alabama’s only loss was to another playoff team. I thought they were clearly better than FSU. But now you have a 12 team playoff. Don’t lose 2+ games and then complain about being left out.

I do hope they tweak the formatting, though. A mediocre ACC or Big 12 conference champ shouldn’t automatically get a bye. There’s clearly a P2 in college football with a steep drop off to get to the other conferences, and the playoff should reflect that.

The SEC needs to add two more schools.  Then have each SEC school play one of the BIG10 schools in a conference challenge just like we see/have seen during basketball season, but not specifically with the SEC.  Then you REALLY have some comparative discussion material.

I'm not sure the "they should play 9 conference games" thing helps us, specifically, this year. I agree if they played a 9 game conference schedule, one or two of those teams probably have a 3rd loss, and a 1 loss IU (if we lose ;-)) has some breathing room. But they also played: NC State (UT), at Wisconsin (Bama), Notre Dame (A&M), Clemson (UGA), at Michigan (Texas) and at Wake Forest (Ole Miss). Some of those aren't crazy difficult games, but they're all power 4 OOC opponents. Had they been looking at a 9 game conference schedule, you can mark the majority, if not all of those games listed above off the schedule. Also to be clear, this is not me advocating for the SEC. I despise that conference, and I'm 100% in on Indiana making the field with 1 loss. I'm just not convinced this argument is a knock on these 2 loss teams, this season.
