Class of '66 Old Fart Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 What's the timeline for the football portal and when can Cig start making official contact with portal players? Quote
TTT Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 Looks like transfer portal opens December 9 through December 28. Don Fischer post game after IU 66. Purdue 0 talking to coach Cignetti. Don: Giving congratulations and saying how happy he was for IU football. Cignetti: Yes, I thought our defense played great. The offense left a couple scoring opportunities on the field. Don: So what do you do now while you wait for the playoff committee to make up their minds on the play off brackets? Do you just sit around twiddling your thumbs? Cignetti: (kind of a taken back laugh)….we have got so much work to do….and somewhere in interview crowds were mentioned and Cignetti was grateful that fans are on board with this football historical season success….and recruiting including transfer portal. Not satisfied yet and got a lot of work ahead.….a new breed of IU football. (for years and less than several months ago a victory IU vs any football team was considered major success and how great a football team IU just beat…for IU football it’s great that this is a bygone time with the current coach and staff and players. Never satisfied. it could in the early 2030’s the most winning coach at IU could actually have an impressive overall and conference winning record with some bowl game wins. southsidehoosier, MemphisHoosier, AZ Hoosier and 2 others 4 1 Quote

Been there, done that, and I’m dreading that being the draw. Other than that, two easy drives (ND, OSU) or easy flights (UGA, Texas) seem to be the possibilities. Banksyrules 1 Quote
Banksyrules Posted December 3, 2024 Posted December 3, 2024 UGA, Tenn- would be my “I’m definitely going destinations”. MemphisHoosier 1 Quote

I’d rather drive 8 hours than 5 hours going thru the airport Quote

That one is a crap sandwich no matter how you slice it. Quote

Road teams get something like 3,500 tickets. Can’t imagine those will be easy to get hands on unless you know someone. You can look on re-sale sites for other schools already, but I’m not thinking those prices are accurate at this point, for better or worse. For example, if we play at ND I’m guessing current prices would just about triple and they’re already around $400 to get in. Quote
