He was great in Bennetts system working off the ball going strong screens to find space. Not as good at creating his own space. Really about fit if you’re comparing the two. Agree, but you aren't talking both along with Conwell. Just not realistic. Stuhoo 1 Quote

He’s already visited Creighton (out of contention, didn’t want to play with freemen) Kansas and Illinois without committing and then we’re a “ surprise visit”. In portal world most times if you leave the visit without committing it’s not going to happen. CDD recruited him while at Drake and he played aau with Tucker, plus were loaded. really hoping we don’t let Conwell leave without committing because UoL and Florida (how could he not want to play in that system) are also prepared to throw bags at him as well as Texas(rumors are now swaying he won’t be going there) If we land Conwell and Dix to go alongside Tucker, give me a pass-first, defensively tough PG and a Bidunga type at the 5 and let’s go compete for a B1G title. thebigweave, JustWinBaby, Hardwood83 and 4 others 7 Quote
WayneFleekHoosier Posted March 31 Posted March 31 I'm not sure I believe the Preston Murphy stuff but i'd love to get him. A big part of my reasoning is we are preparing to spend large money on Dix, Conwell, and Fidunga supposedly and you'd think Murphy would have his own set of big dogs he'd want to bring so I just don't see that meshing out financially. Continue to hope to be wrong. Moikubo will be interesting though too as he seems to be well regarded. Not thinking he carries the same recruiting swagger but i'm sure he has options lined up too. lillurk and 8bucks 2 Quote

Haven’t seen the kid play but that would absolutely make sense from a roster construction perspective. Coach will know better than we would if he can handle the step up in competition. Im plenty ready to be done judging players by their rankings on recruiting sites. That’s all our last coach seemed to do while guys who made winning plays like Leal were left to rot on the bench. I don’t think it was ever discussed how in that one press conference toward the end of the year Woody was talking about Leal and said (paraphrasing) “I decided not to play him, I probably should have played him more, I just… didn’t play him a lot.” Excited to have a real program being run here again. thebigweave, AZ Hoosier, BtownStrength and 8 others 11 Quote

I kinda assume we might but he's shown nothing to make me feel good about it besides "potential" I actually feel sort of bad for Booker. Because of his talent he’s stuck playing a sport he clearly doesn’t particularly like and he’s just not terribly competitive. Nothing wrong with that unless you’re an athlete. I imagine there are about 50 things he’d rather be doing than playing ball but he’s gonna be stuck doing this until he can walk away and that may be a few years.
