monskisprodigy Posted April 17, 2024 Posted April 17, 2024 Hey guys, I have it on good authority that someone will commit this week! He plays basketball, has a first and last name and….played in college last year on a school in a state. I’ll confirm once it’s announced publicly, please respect my sources. I worry about anyone with possible back issues, though. But, what is the allure of Malone? Can someone explain it to me like I'm stupid? And I just may be. I saw his highlight video and he seems really s-l-o-w... Quote

It would be Woodson's most talented team to date. Newton and Leal out of the rotation. The thing the national guys don't understand... Rice was a 33% 3 point shooter before he missed 22 straight. Mgbako was horrible at the start of the year and got better. Ended up at 33%. 2nd half of the Big Ten season (last ten B1G games) he was shooting around 40% from 3. Was bad in the BTT. Carlyle 32% All 3 have the potential to be MUCH better. They'll put in the work and hopefully our staff puts them in the right spot. Trish, thebigweave and Home Jersey 3 Quote

He needs minutes in live game action. I agree with your top 7 and Cupps is going to play. Leal idk we will see. I’m not saying Newton is going to play a lot of minutes. Who knows what he will look like, but I do think he needs to see the court imo. If he can get back to where he was he will most certainly get minutes, probably a lot of them. If we have the luxury, there is no need to rush him. A major injury like that takes time to come back from, not only physically, but emotionally. Going to have to re-learn to trust that knee. I'd prefer to see him as a stud in his later years, than rush him back now. thebigweave 1 Quote

You'll quickly find those kind of freshman don't grow on trees. I believe you'll find even the most prolific 3 point shooters improved steadily throughout their careers. Expect the same for all 3 of our soon to be sophomores. HoosierFan1994, Adillac, lillurk and 2 others 5 Quote

AAU coach likes that Woody has a relationship with his players (GG did not). AAU coach wants him at IU. Is that before or after he learns their name? :) I kid. I kid. Quote

Bc you know there will be a second unit. lol I think Trey came back with the promise of more money and to start. I could be wrong of course but I think Woodson should stagger his starters with the bench. A whole different second unit isn't something I see him doing with the amount of talent available still. I'm told Woody is tired of dealing with this Portal and is ready to do something else. Then we save one scholarship for later on. There's golf to play damnit. :) Quote

Maybe. I doubt that though concerning starting. If he earns it great but I think a sophomore Rice and Carlyle are better and are coming to start. Galloway will be the 6th man. He tried to do 10 men with less talent before. I think by the time the roster fills out he will have 10 players. Them with injury he will shorten the bench. Rice, Carlyle, Mgbako, Reneau, Ballo Cupps, Galloway, Turner, Then fill the last 2 spots with players yet to be named. Hardwood83 1 Quote

Probably purposely out of the loop. I’d assume his going after Woodsons job played a role in that. But he also has a job to do and that’s cover recruiting. Hard to cover something the staff doesn’t do throughout the year. tkbbn and Jam 2 Quote

cleeter Posted April 17, 2024 Posted April 17, 2024 We can all assume that the Conwell ship has sailed correct. Best case right now would be Essegian, Malone and hope for Humrichous? Hardwood83 1 Quote
Popular Post Class of '66 Old Fart Posted April 17, 2024 Author Popular Post Posted April 17, 2024 Lot of posters really underselling Jakai and I fully understand why. But if this kid can come back to 90%+ of what he was IMO he won't be the 11-13th player on the bench. Maybe on the first day of the season but not by March.
