Sort of. Ish in that area, but I don't feel in big games he will be on the court that much.

I stand by... "hes not a 3" though. I think with his frame he plays college basketball at like 6'8 220-230

I think you're about right. I'm sure the year at Montverde helped him physically. Oddly, he went there to get wing reps and they had to play him predominantly at the 5. He can defend mumtiple positions. I think he's a great connector player, in the way that OG is. I'm not saying for a second he's OG Anunoby but that's how I see him impacting games at a similar size.

A lot better defensively than Reneau.

That said, not sure how he still has any eligibility left.

Didn't TJD put up 75 on him in that road game? Felt like it anyway..

I know I said this before, but I talked to someone supposedly close to Tre's family. He told me Tre would be highly interested if they came calling. This was at my niece's birthday party, and this individual's son goes to Jeff right now. We will see if it's enough interest to flip him. Also, I heard Northwestern has been down to see him a lot lately.

Gonna be hard to attract a quality guard that wants to play 15+ minutes at this point. Let's go get a developmental freshman guard or two.

We should be just fine selling opportunity to a big guy.

Outside of a portal big, I would like to see Coach try to get some good high school talent. Might be a little late for that, but hope to see more high school recruiting than portal in the future. Coach mentioned that in his presser to do portal now then high school later, which is totally fine and agree with.
Might take time to mend some of those high school/aau bridges. Regardless, love what the staff is doing right now!

He’s a slow Malik Reneau + 40 lbs.

I’ll leave this to CDD, but nothankyou

That and he averaged 14 a game at Memphis on a tournament team. Doubt he would get anywhere close to that here.

Bucky plays elaborate defenses and I think this is just odd. Mgbako, played on an incredibly talented aau team and had God given shooting chops, but he was not a very intelligent young man and had never been coached. Honestly, N. Florida would've been perfect. They were 353rd I think in team defense and got up a crazy amount of 3s. He could add 25ppg there.

N. Florida is getting nooooo support in the NIL department. They are 2nd to last in the ASUN so they can’t afford anyone like MM. it’s why the coaching staff hasn’t been fired because they’ve lost their 3 best players 3 years in a row.

That's my opinion of MM.

if MM would have tried has hard on defense as he did when trying to get some taco bell after they closed, he would have been just fine here and likely a draft candidate here in a few months.  His draft stock fell from year 1 to year 2 and I would argue it was because his defense went from near average to mostly bad.

now, back to portals that have interest in IU lol

Honestly as much as he's bashed here, I'd bet $1000 he does well at A&M. Woodson's complete lack of any perimeter schemes killed his play here, the guy's a good player, he'll do well.

What is your definition of does well?  Just want to clarify for the $1000 bet

Yeah I'd take that bet. Slow, unaware, below avg shooter, doesn't create for others, and below avg athletically.

Yeah, I think he'll probably perform better with a coach who is willing to run plays for him, but I don't ever see him living up to that 5 star ranking. I was surprised by his lack of athleticism. With a better attitude, he could be much better. Maybe this coach can pull that out of him.

It's not like MM is a complete stiff. He was co-frosh of the year in the B1G under Mike Woodson. I understand that the defense was completely focused on TJD during that season, but still.

MM isn't carmelo anthony or anything, but certainly a better coach than Woody should be able to coax a decent season out of him. He's tall, got a good build, and can shoot. He can be a good stretch 4 if he's really pushed to do the little things (which I don't think he was under Woody).

Yes, he's limited athletically, but so are a lot guys. That's why it's insane that Woody played him at the 3 for so long.
