Not directing this at you, as I often see people talk about making ti a certain round of the BTT as a marker. I get IU's never had much success there, but I really couldn't care less about the BTT. It's really a nothing in the grand scheme of things.

I care more about success in the NCAAs. And a lengthy run in the BTT, while nice and all, is meaningless if you then exit the NCAAs early.

No one is going to say, well, coach couldn't get us to the second weekend of the dance, but that BTT banner makes up for it.

Yeah it'd be nice to win the BTT once just to get the monkey off your back, but in the grand scheme of things does really nothing for seeding if you're already in the tournament. Michigan just went through the gauntlet of Purdue, Maryland, and Wisconsin in conesuctive days and were seeded lower than all three of them despite beating Purdue and Wisconsin x2 and as a reward were sent out West to Denver to play the highest rated mid-major in the tournament in UC-Sn Diego. Have a feeling the bracket was already drawn up before Sunday started and Michigan's win against Wisconsin wasn't even factored into the equation.

This is the McNutt residence center. This is where you’ll … well, you gotta enroll to find out what you’ll do here…

It’s not at the top of my list, but it’s a nice thing to finish off strong.

After May signed his contract Michigan hit the tough part of their schedule. Some people were saying he’d fell off or got figured out, because they predictably lost some of the harder games. Then UM won the BTT and went to the S16.

I bet that did a lot for some UM fans who were nervous about him for whatever reason. Effect would be the same if CDD won the BTT in his first year.

Interesting off the top of my head. Almost every year we have sucked in the big 10 tournament we have either missed the ncaa or exited early. The only final in the btt that I recall ended as a runner up in both tournaments. So I agree big 10 tournament doesn't mean anything however results say it could mean something imo
