Let’s see, would I rather spend the coming year or so in Bloomington or downtown Louisville?  ………..

I was literally think how to post this same thing! lol

personally, having graduated from IU and lived in Bloomington for 8 years, downtown U of L is not even in the same hemisphere!

My oldest daughter graduated from IU but earned her Masters at U of L. Wow, I was never so glad when she was done with that school. Uggggh!

Whichever players we get are the ones who chose to get in on the ground floor. You have to have some vision to commit to a program that couldn’t play more than 1 on 1 with its current roster. The money helps for sure. Playing time helps for sure. But it’s a competitive spending landscape and a lot of these guys are never going to be pros so this next payday is as good as it’s going to get. Highly doubt we get all of Conwell, Flory, Dix, and Enright but really want to land at least two. Tough dynamic for a first year coach to navigate but he’s got plenty of resources in his arsenal. At a minimum hopefully we announce the coaching staff soon.

Things that will never be mentioned during visits:

“This is Briscoe Dorm. You won’t be living there.”

”This is the building that houses the servers for your online classes.”

”This is our bad neighborhood where you don’t want to walk around late night.”

Gabe will show you around the Upstairs… oh wait…

This is Cook Hall. You’ll practice here.

This is Assembly Hall. You’ll play in front of 17,000 fans every game here.

This is the McNutt residence center. This is where you’ll … well, you gotta enroll to find out what you’ll do here…

The only thing probably discuss is money so that doesn't take that long to discuss. They don't care about facilities or the academic program

It's not that clinical. If it were, it would solely be a salary negotiation with an agent over the phone.

It's a combination of competitive pay, player development, lifestyle, and connection to the staff and potential teammates. Pay is a big factor, but not the only factor.

I am a little bit surprised how much shorter the visits players are taking everyone now.  Conwell rolls in yesterday night, leaves this morning, goes to Louisville this morning, likely leaves tonight, and then off to Texas.  Dix has had quite a few visits now that seem to be under 24 hours.

April 3rd begins a dead period.

April 7th court ruling could change 'not already in place' revenue sharing.

The next few days are prime time for portal commitments.

I've never been to Austin but downtown L'ville is terrible compared to Bloomington.  L'ville has gotten better over the past ten years but still a depressed city compared to others in similar size (Cincinnati for example).

Austin, TX is pretty great...expensive, but great.

Austin is a great college town, lots to do, scenic, college atmosphere etc.
