A dude can dream. I’m still in the hope newton can get healthy dream - hope world. Dude has so much talent and just can’t stand seeing guys robbed of their games and own dreams by injury. If he were to overcome the nagging injuries and come back and play his game, that alone would make for a great part of a new look IU under the new staff lillurk, cybergates, 8bucks and 2 others 5 Quote

Will always have it stuck in my head watching Newton HS play Brownsville(TX) HS when he was a Jr and in a game with Stephon Castle, Ron Holland and Wesley Yates, Jakai was absolutely the best player on the floor and 1 of the announcers suggesting he was actually too good for IU and a better program was gonna poach him. Demo Posted March 22, 2025 Posted March 22, 2025 https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/colby-garland-1.html Maybe 1 to keep in the back of the mind. Colby Garland from Longwood enters the portal. Lefty PG. Played for DeVries as a freshman. Averaged 12pts/4asts on decent shooting splits. 2 years of eligibility. Can it be learned and improved? Of course. But some guys have it and some don’t. I see this being the case A LOT. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners mobile app Yes. I prefer the Dan Hurley philosophy of recruit shooters and teach them other things. Pagoda, Home Jersey and TrueHoosier62 3 Quote

So certainly seems likely. JustWinBaby, RaceToTheTop, J34 and 4 others 7 Quote

Good find. What does he project to play at the next level? 6'8" is too probably too small for the 5 at IU. Is he quick enough and have the outside game for a modern 4? Quote
