I figured they would be all for it. I guess they all convinced themselves they were getting Hurley.

You could do a lot worse than someone who won a national title at freakin Baylor.

Yeah, when you want Stevens, Hurley, Donovan it seems like a downgrade. But he can recruit. He’s a bit slimy and doesn’t care about it. He’ll probably cook at UK. Seems like an almost perfect fit.

Sidenote, If UK is willing to spend 11 mill a year with a 5-8 mill NIL, like the Hurley offer suggests, IU needs to get their crap in order.

I'm not convinced that Hurley offer is even real. But it's definitely making the rounds, so lots of UK fans are running with it and getting their hopes up.

To the point where anyone other than Hurley will be a disappointment. 

If it gets to the point where Drew publicly turns them down, I'm pretty sure their board's server will crash.

Don’t think we wouldn’t be acting the same way.  What is sad is that their AD is going after top candidates and I am sure will land someone better than Mike Woodson. I wish our AD would try as hard ☹️

Wayne…. We are way past getting our crap in order. We are so far behind. We have $5m-$6m in NIL, tons of playing time, and a total of 6 roster spots. We’ve not landed a single portal prospect yet. We have so much ground to make up, on so many levels. 
 

the window of opportunity to get back in the conversation with the other blueblood’s is closed. We aren’t even the flagship program in our state anymore. Money is not going to fix our problems. So many programs have the money to match and so much more to offer. 
 

Indiana Men’s Basketball will never get their **** together. I’ve never been more sure of anything in my life.

Winning is obviously most important at Kentucky but you really have to have the right personality. The UK fan base is truly a circus and they need PT. Barnum carnival barker. Someone truly a master of BS. Pintino and Cal excelled at both. 

Toward the end Cal's ego started to bug the fans but that's because he wasn't winning as much. Before they lapped it up. 

I'm not sure how many of their candidates can adapt to having a more show man like personality. But as long as they win I guess it doesn't matter.

As a Cat fan once told me, I would hire Bin Laden if he wins. Pretty much sizes up their fan base.

Dylan Burkhart had an interesting take on the latest Podcast on the Brink. Dylan is the UM Hoops guy who is friends with Bozich of Inside the Hall. Anyway, his theory is that Cals approach stopped working bc of Covid extending players playing eligibilty. So instead of high end 18/19 year olds playing against 22/23 year olds, they are up against 24/25 year olds and UK hasn’t been the same. Now that the extended eligibility is almost over, Cals system of landing the top high schoolers could still be successful.

Mike Woodson is the man for the job. He has just as many contacts in the NBA than coach Cal. He's been to the tournament twice in three years at Indiana! He's in his prime! Kentucky, you need to reach out to Mike Woodson!

UK fans wanted Cal gone because they thought Hurley would be a near-lock.

They're gonna end up with Mark Pope. And Rupp Rafters will be must-see tv.
