Brad Stevens hadn't coached college basketball in 10 years. Much has changed.

I agree but you still take him. He's 48. He honestly didn't do that bad in the NBA. His move from Butler to Boston shocked me. I always thought he would be back. 2021 felt like the time to do it.

He played a huge part in the Celtics winning it all last year. They are a contender this year too.

College sports are becoming more like pro sports every year. Some people think Woodson didn't work at IU because he's an NBA guy. Woodson didn't work at IU because he's lazy. I don't think Stevens is.

I’m still trying to figure out why everyone is discussing possible coaching candidates when Jerry adamantly stated we have our guy and I am assuming it is BS.
We were told we had stevens last time and we ended up with woodson . Things can change until someone signs on the dotted line

It would calm things down.

Not doubting our guys here at all, but believing the GM of the Boston Celtics would leave his job to coach the Indiana Hoosiers is insane.  (I'm a little insane)

It’s even more ridiculous than the KY fans who were convinced they were getting Dan Hurley

It's February 6th. Season likely will end on March 12th or 13th. 5 more weeks of the speculation. Just so much time between now and then. I still believe our guys that we had Stevens in 2021 and he backed out at the midnight hour. Hope we get him this time.

You’re missing one, but you got one of our top four there. There were a Few people who reached out to us expressing interest that is an exceptional back up plan if needed unexpectedly.

He freaking gave you the answer. :D

To suggest there is any racial angle here is completely laughable - entirely merit based like you said.

It's actually offensive to the people working on serious causes for their communities, tbh.

This is just the dying breath of Quinn's corruption IMO... I really wish that he doesn't finish the year.

Let's hope this is Custer's Last Stand for Quinn and Mike... tomorrow we get a pleasant surprise...

What a way to ruin your legacies.

I'll take "What have you done for us lately?" for $1,000

40+ years ago he played here.

For the past 4 years he's crapped his pants at every turn. And he's been arrogant about it...

Couple thoughts about today

1) I'm surprised Goodman in the media was the "first" one to "break" this. Makes me think it could've been leaked by the university to speed this up.

2) No reason IU can't have a new coach by the start of the NCAA Tournament. Some really good jobs could open up this year (UNC, maybe Texas?). Need to get our guy...if it's Stevens, McCollum, May, etc great. Just win!! I'm tired of Indiana Basketball being like everybody else.

Wonder where his daughter works

K

Who would want a guy that has been to the sweet 16 or better the last 9 years in a row, elite 8 5 of those years and runner up twice, all from a mid major.

He plays in a garbage conference and has a #1 or 2 seed almost every year.  It doesn't mean he beat anyone to get there.  Tom Crean as the #1 seed beat lowly James Madison and Temple.  Not something to toot your horn about.

Told it was supposed to happen today, but Woody is being difficult about ending the season - and some of that has to do with getting the most out of his contract. This all follows several weeks of work by Dolson, and his witnessing a fight in the locker room that had to be broken up, with an assistant coach yelling at Woody “this is why they’re firing you!”

that's gonna leave a mark...
