Not that it matters, but I decided to email Dolson a short, but polite message after the game yesterday. He at least took the time to respond. Probably should have sent it to the BOT.
Based on Woodson's Radio show comments, he isn't going down without a fight. I just don't see him "retiring". I think the University is going to have to fire him. Quinn Buckner's term doesn't end until July 1st. Who is to say he won't step in after the season is over in March and demand Woodson is back? It is clear they have massive ego's and just don't get it. I really do think Woodson thinks he is doing such a good job. What a mess.
Last, I know most of you hate him. But, Dakich is worth a listen to today. I absolutely believe that the talk about Ballo and some of the players are true. It shows during the games. Look no further than Goode having Woodson and Rosemond turn around after the game. I really do think this is the lowest this program has been in 15 years. It's sad...I felt after sweeping Purdue in 2023 that the tide was changing. Makes me appreciate Trayce even more.
He certainly is not retiring. He is going to dare dolson to fire him and his massive ego.

I believe the B4A stuff was shown to be not true wasn't it?  Think the picture was old and not from B4A.

It was a 5'10" skronny dude in his 30's. People just ran with it

It’s a $6,000,000 NIL player development program ($6,000,000 men/man) through March 31, 2027.  Patience.  No need to hurry.

I tend to believe the board insiders that say there are internal discussions on how and when to remove Woodson. I have to believe that there are enough influential people that feel like many of us do.  However, I'm a pessimist and assume it won't happen until the end of the season, and I am concerned that there's still a chance Woodson will be retained if we finish in the top 6 of the Big Ten.  This overriding fear that he will be brought back makes it impossible for me to get excited about any IU victory.  Please get rid of him now, so I can root for my team!

Sadly for the kids, the losing will continue to take care of itself.

likewise, the losing should mark the end of this experiment.

I actually think an interim is the best of both worlds - maybe rally the troops for the next two months and have a new coach by early April.

I thought about this earlier… What if Kenya becomes the interim HC leads us to a NCAA tourney bid and wins a game. I’m guessing he could get some NcAA HC interest from smaller programs and might accept. I know we probably don’t want him as Indiana’s HC but what if he has a solid run to make the tourney, wins a game and wants to return as an assistant for the next HC say it be a Stevens who might not have a college staff built. Would Dolson allow Kenya’s return or does Scott not want anyone back from the Woodson era?

I hope Dolson hires the head coach and then gets out of the way to let the head coach hire the staff he wants.

Dolson “presented” Fife and Matta to Woody, because he knew (I assume) Woody was not qualified to be a college head coach, but this hire better be someone that doesn’t need “help”.

Hire a great head coach and trust him to build his staff without any administrative interference/suggestions.

I am assuming Woody was Buckner's pick and Fife/Matta was Dolson's "counter" to "sell" it because he knew Woody had 0 experience and needed the help.....this blew up in Dolson's face and he's left to repair it.....No doubt he will

Yes.

That’s what I think but, as I posted, we need a great hire that doesn’t need any “help” and then let the new head coach 100% pick his own staff.

Yep. The whole thing was just absurd. We just had four bad years so lets hire someone with no experience. Its clear quinn was not thinking about the program. It was all for personal reasons.

I’ve been against firing him mid season, but the argument for it is basically this. Try and salvage something for guys like Leal and Goode who are on their last go around and are busting their @$$.

At this point, unless Hunter is a miracle worker we’re probably hoping to have a competitive squad that has a punchers chance in the BTT. It’s something at least.

I am starting to feel apathy creeping up on me at an alarming rate....I was almost to the point this morning where I was not even going to bother checking the board for updates.....IT FEELS like we will get our hopes up and get bashed in the face with Woodson for another year......The administration is waiting us out until we can give two craps about the program, and they are no longer under pressure...."Let's beat the fans down so badly with this nonsense that they stop caring, and then we can get to where we want to be...win a few high-profile games at home annually, a few exciting dunks for the kiddos, maybe we start the walk-ons so that everyone gets a trophy......MEDIOCRITY IS THE NEW NORM...Sounds crazy but younger fans and newer admin just do not identify with the passion of the fans that have been around since Knight and the winning days....thats my opinion. What is the incentive for them to deal with all the headaches and the news reports and the social media hate on and on and on....

I think there are many us almost there too! It’s a shame it’s come to this!

Tony Adragna was on X last night with an open Q&A, says MW will get the rest of the season due to being a program legend and basically there is no one on the bench that could take over, but believes he deserves to be canned now.

He’s probably correct but Tony is no insider.  He has no idea what is going on.

Good post. Unfortunately there’s people more influential and frankly powerful than Dolson regarding IUBB…it’s part of the reason why Woodson is arrogant/cocky….yes, he’s part of that group. He will not willingly “retire.” Time will tell, but this isn’t going to be easy. It may have to take some serious balls from Dolson. Let’s hope.

I know, just trying to start thinking rationally. I read his responses and began to think, ya know this probably makes more sense of what will happen, given our history of fumbling these situations. Sorry just trying to cool down after watching that last debacle in person.
