I’m not missing the point but I definitely am not convinced we have our “Diebler” at the ready. Since you seemingly are, who should we retain as the interim coach?

Who cares who the interim HC would be. We suck, who cares if we suck the rest of the season. We’ve been a terrible program for a decade. We did the unthinkable when we hired Woodson, then doubled down and upped his contract after 1 season as if another program was going to poach him. No college bball program would hire him, what does that tell you about him as a coach? Firing Woodson sends a message to the fan base that a change is coming and that the administration agrees that the standard for IU basketball has not been met and the current performance is subpar. I think all fans would put their anger aside for the future of the program if he is let go mid season. If he isn’t, then things will continue to get uglier and uglier because resentment and anger will continue to worsen. Last night was just the tip of the iceberg if the season continues to head in this direction with him at the helm.

A while back I posted about the possibility of Woodson having mental health issues and Kathy you made a comment like "you're warm".. sooooo..is that part of the issue? Is IU keeping something hush hush since Woody is a "legend"?

If true very sad and I pray for Woody...however it was mental to hire him in the first place and one flew over the cuckoo's nest crazy giving him 6 mil in NIL and keeping him this year.

I don't think it is surprising that a guy who enjoys drinking a lot of red wine and smoking cigars has high blood pressure if that is the case. I've heard whispers of health issue but never anything concrete

The best scenario is you tell CMW he can immediately announce his retirement, to be effective at the end of the season, or he'll be terminated and an interim will be named. Then you make it clear to the interim that they are coaching for their prospects elsewhere. They won't be a candidate for the IU job.

Agreed and I'm not trying to dog Woody but it would explain why he doesn't know player names, looks like "he's lost" on the sideline, can't make comments in pressers beyond the repeated cliches, etc. and perhaps QB knows and gives his buddy a final gift of this position??

The "Vortex of Suck".

Interesting stats from this video:

  • IU has not finished in the B1G ahead of Purdue since 2016.
  • IU has not finished in the top 25 KenPom since 2016.
  • Woodson spent "$5M in the portal and are playing like it's 1982"... though I believe the number is closer to $6M.
  • IU hasn't reached the Elite 8 since 2002.

It's just Ckatchy. The rest of us are pretty united and mostly rational here. There's really only one contrarian.

The vibe in here feels very much like when Steuben was trolling everyone in here last Spring.

I know we had a brief Steuben sighting earlier today, but still...

Actually i dont think she is here to stir the fans up but is sent out to try and calm the fanbase.   Seems she shows up each time Woody's seat starts to get really hot.  Does not seem she is able to calm things down though.

If that is truly her job/mission, she should be fired immediately because all she has done is stoke the flames

If something like that was true, and I'm highly skeptical, and if QB knew that would actually violate his fiduciary duty to the University as Board Chair.

Do people really think he'd leave Michigan after a single year? I don't.

Yeah he has a connection here but if you ask me - he would not have taken the Michigan job, a job in conference, only to bolt for IU that quickly. He would've waited for IU to open up.

This isn't Lane Kiffin we're talkin' about here.

In the Gary Parrish video (above) they talked about May having turned down the Louisville job due to the "fishbowl" effect and mentioned that May might have passed on IU for the same reason... I know he's an alum, and he said that he wanted to coach here... but too much pressure? The inference was that Michigan was a football school, so less pressure...

Not sure that I agree with them, but it's an interesting take on the situation. And I'd still take him in a heartbeat.

I came here to discuss the process and mindset within the University on matters such as this, and the “Fire Woodson” crowd didn’t care for that. The mistake I made was suggesting their reactions were emotional, which elicited an extremely emotional response from the unemotional and rational posters whom I called “emotional”.

The "mindset" of the University, if that's what it is, is stupefying.  Many posters have given you well thought out, rational, data based, reasons to make a move now (if not at the end of last year), but you don't want to hear them.  Maybe you are a part of the dumbest University administration in the country.
