Hornsby Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 I think Dolson will be fine -- as long as he can make this next hire free of any mandates from Buckner or the BOT. He did pretty well with our football hire. That's a big if. Quinn will still be around when the new hire would be made. You better believe quinn will fight any removal of his 4.2 million dollar boy.Sent from my SM-A146U using Tapatalk

Pope absolutely gets it and if they’re 3-7 in the SEC and he starts catching some crap he’s gonna be ready for it. But I keep thinking about Archie’s intro presser and he looked like it had just hit him and he appeared spooked and he just looked too small for the job. For all the criticism of Woody’s arrogance, if you take this job your ego better be bullet-proof. That was part of Davis' problem as well. The arrogance of Woodson is the opposite problem. It keeps him from actually looking for solutions and turns fans off. Confidence is important but arrogance is detrimental. tkbbn 1

hper50 Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 There’s a lot of people who think Dusty May would definitely come here or would definitely not. Who the hell knows? tkbbn 1

He’s already been out of college a long time. IMO, he says no this time, that’s it. 2. Make Dusty say no. 3. Hope McCollum doesn’t stay in Iowa and follow Fran. 4/5. If it gets this far down the list, I’d consider us cooked. I like Huss, I think Micah could be good, still think Shertz could be good too. 6. Anyone but Woody. I think this is my exact list - don’t know enough about Huss - I’m admittedly higher on Shrews & Schertz than most though

Stuhoo Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 You guys better damn well hope it's not Huss at IU as an unmitigated success. Because I came up with his name all on my own by researching successful small school coaches and their ties to the State of Indiana. So if that guy ever gets named and is a big success? Every time anyone dares to question me I'm gonna reply with his name as my checkmate answer. You: "Hey Stuhoo ... that take you have about how we should rename Assembly Hall 'The Taco Bell Event Center' sux!" Me: "Huss." You: "Oh ... I guess you're right. At least I can get a Chaulpa at a game." And if they hire him and he fails miserably? I will leave the board and create a new account named "HooStu?" LamarCheeks Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 C'mon, man Huss and High Point just took a home loss to my Norfolk State Spartans -- a pretty low mid-major. Behold the Green and Gold! (The same Norfolk State Spartans whose football team will be coached by Mike Vick!)

I'm guessing it's a disaster behind the scenes. As fans we hear some of the stories, but for those in the athletic dept and very close to the program, they probably know 3x more stories and they know they're true. I doubt the pro-Woody camp will have much of a case at the end of this year. Quinn got Woody a big pay day and 4th year, but that's probably it. The bad on court results, failed recruiting, and endless stories of incompetence will be too much to overcome. Fingers crossed Scott is allowed to make this hire and he gets it right. On a neutral site IU would be about a five point favorite against High Point. And a game at High Point? They might be favored. Huss may have lost to Norfolk State, but stilllllllll.
