Just passing this on, in case anyone knows anyone who might benefit from it.

While I get your point with regards to Woodson, I think there’s a larger point in there. The current NBA is terrible basketball and corresponding their ratings are in the tank. Just watching guys run up and down half heartedly for layups and 3s isn’t compelling.

Because of the number of games in the NBA, it can somewhat be effective in the long run. But in college with a single elimination tournament you had better bring a little more than that. Unfortunately Woody can’t do either effectively.

Some highlights (lowlights?) re what they say about Woody?

  • Woody has banned players and staff from talking to the Hoosier Hysterics, but players and staff talk to them anyway

Of all the bullet points that were on this list, this one is perhaps the biggest indictment against Mike Woodson. How can you call yourself a head coach when even your own assistants don't listen to you?

Think back to the UNC-Greensboro game when, with about 5 minutes left, Woodson called timeout for a baseline out of bounds play. Mgbako took the inbounds pass and immediately shot an 18 foot fadeaway. Either Woodson drew up a lousy play, or he drew up something else and Mgbako said "screw it, I'm taking this (bad) shot."

If nobody listens to or respects the head coach, why are we employing the guy?

The sad thing is that if we could go back 4 years in a time machine I guarantee you QB still makes the same hire.

How else would Woodson get a head coaching job? Literally no one else wanted him.

We need to lose tomorrow. The tank must start strong in conference play before we go back to play the schools of the deaf and blind.

I don’t think it’s necessary this year. The pulse and lack of enthusiasm is seen and being felt.

The worst, the better IMO! If Football is exceeding at Indiana and basketball isn't, it's a sign of concern.

That being said, I'm 100% in Indiana being a football school now. Basketball school was over in 2002 sadly.

I graduated in 2003. That 2002 trip with an overachieving team was so much fun. Since then, 12/13. 16. That’s about it. I guess the JHS/TJD was ok. TJD made that year special. Slim pickings.

As much as I can’t stand MW and I hate the fact he is still out, undeservedly so, IMO, but I will never ever root for us to lose.  With everything that has transpired over the 4 years, especially last year and so far this year, I still think MW will be gone after this year, I really believe that!  I think Dolson is laying the groundwork now to fire him and search for our new head coach.

FIRE MIKE WOODSON!!!

“Kathy” is quite simply a message board poster and nothing more, and has never claimed otherwise to my knowledge.

Not sure why some on this board started to spread the narrative that the poster has some kind of special knowledge.

Because that’s the way she comes off with her her post.

This is not a defense of Woody

I would prefer Dusty over Woody

I would prefer Dusty over Woody

I would prefer Dusty over WoodyI

but…..UM beat Iowa at home by 2 and Dusty is being “crowned”. If IU won by two at home against Iowa the panic button would be worn out.

I would be over the moon if I beat Iowa by two at home. Woody hardly ever beats Iowa.

Maybe not celebrating but your own quote seems pretty close to that

“Michigan 2-0 in conference now. So glad we bought a team instead of getting dusty!”

Again, and this seems to be a difficult concept to understand, but I’m NOT defending Woody but rather stating that we would not be happy with a 2 point home win against Iowa. Not sure why that is debatable/controversial.

Here’s the difference. Dusty is in year 1 at Michigan and still won. Woodson is in year 4 and finds ways to get blown out with a very expensive roster that he put together

I won’t openly root for us to lose.

But, honestly, I don’t believe that I’ll have to root to see the disappointment we know is coming. There is no way with the talent that is on this roster that we shouldn’t have a good year. But we’ve seen this movie before and it doesn’t have the ending any of us want.

Just seeing the play from Atlantis told you everything you need to know about how good of a collegiate coach Mike Woodson is. Even in the win over Providence, you could see it wasn’t a matter of us shutting them down on defense, it was a matter of them missing good wide open shots - especially from three point range. Good teams will exploit the crap out of that, especially in the Big 10.

I wonder how the King of Indiana feels about the football team getting all the love and attention.
Doubt he cares he is getting paid and thinks he is a great coach.

Hopefully it burns his @$$. Cignetti has done his job. Woodson has only said that he has.

He ought to be embarrassed, but his is ego is too big to grasp the truth.

Every B10 team I’ve watched this year seems to shoot the 3 pretty well and I believe you are correct on that assessment!  We allow way too many open 3’s and there are way too many good coaches in the B10 and that will exploit that.  As always, MW will get out-coached and that, along with finishing in the middle of the B10, will be his undoing because you can invest that amount of money on team just to finish in the middle of the pack and either barely making the tournament or not making, he will be out!  From what I’ve seen so far this year, this team will underachieve because they are under coached and I do not have any confidence that MW will be able to right the ship because his work ethic is lazy!  The season will be a giant disappointment and that I am confident about!

The real bummer in all of this is MW, Armond Hill, Randy Whitman, QB, and many others will be laughing all the way to the bank!
