I disagree with Cathy about the whole Cluster F Stevens process. But it doesn't matter these days. From what I was told from people in the room we thought we had a signed contract with BS and his agent wife. But maybe Quinn knew he would say no so he could move on to Woody. Anyway can't wait to go through the process again here soon

I’ve also heard one of QB and Woodies pissed of Brad’s wife and that was part of the decision to say “no”.

This is so depressing.

Probably intentional if true.

KathyC paints an incredibly depressing picture of IU athletics. All this HR talk about “consensus building” and “relationships” being what matters instead of wins. An unserious administration delivering unserious results. No surprise there. It’s way past time to get all these has beens out of the picture and let the AD do his job.

At least we have IU football to enjoy until that happens. I’d rather be a football school anyway.

Yea, she really reinforces how badly IUBB is run.  It's incredible.

KathywithaC is just some message board poster. Anonymous, has been active on the rivals free board for years, provocative, but no reason for me to believe that he/she has anything more than anyone else here, and less than a few that I know may have some program access.

So don't let negativity be depressing and don't let irrational optimism get you too sure of improvements. The fun is in the sorting though it and finding out.

Drip...drip...drip.

Quinn Buckner has been such a disaster for IU basketball. He needs to lose all his influence. A guy who went 13-69 in his lone season as a head coach should have zero say in our head coach decisions.

The worst thing is there is no oversight over him.  No accountability.  He is negligent and ruins things from a distance with no repercussions.

In the end these boards are just entertainment.  Same with IU sports.

I've been on the IU rivals board for 20 years, I'm ashamed I can't make the connection on Cathy's handle over there lol.

Sadly we kind of asked for it.  Before he was a trustee we had the trustee's who did not want the basketball program to become to big post RMK.  I remember many of us wishing a former player could become a trustee and help overcome this fear.  Then QB came and we thought we had our problems solved.

Then new problems came

It's a completely different handle there, but it's 100% so.

And the same know-it-all, at times informative and at times extremely condescending style.

I think she probably means about what went on that caused it be a cluster. This time everyone needs to get out of the way and let Scott do the search and communication.

Yes there was many hands in the cookie jar so they say.

Sure.  Stuff happens, especially when wives are involved.  :)  But it is interesting that the guy gave up coaching after that -- maybe his heart just wasn't in it anymore.

He may still want to coach, but it's got to be pretty fun moving pieces around on an NBA team and that directly leads to making NBA finals and now winning a championship.

Actually, it is just apparent there is one dude, who isn't even part of the athletic department, throwing his weight around.  Guy is a bully, plain and simple.  His term is up in 2025 and hopefully he goes away.

You seem to have a thing about including me in your dismissive posts when I have added little to this over the last few days, and what I have added suggests that I am slowly changing my opinion.

Thanks for the mentions though.

I’m actually thankful to be honest.  I didn’t mean for it to happen but this thread took off like a rocket and want to break records naturally. Am I a bit competitive………. Possibly.  Do I have issues….. most definitely.

What do you think the odds are that the outcome is different this time around?

THAT would not be a surprise to me.
