Coaches aren’t working, they’re not looking at other jobs, they’re not recruiting, they’re doing literally nothing. It’s why it exists. No work. Nothing. Dead week is a complete vacation week. Did I mention it’s dead week? That means no work. It’s like a regular week, but one where college coaches are not allowed to do any work. They have to be on vacation. You don't know what dead week is, do you? Hint: It only refers to the portal and recruits. Another hint, John Calapari is working on his departure from UK and his arrival at ARK during"dead week." 68Hoosier Posted April 9, 2024 Posted April 9, 2024 I am so sick of not being relevant in basketball anymore. When will be put the pieces together again. Do we really believe it is an administration issue? What is really holding us back.

A good administration that is concerned with winning has proper goals in place (winning championships), and quickly evaluate the landscape and make the right decision. More importantly when it doesn't make the right decision they quickly fix their errors. We have a horrible administration that only cares about money (they're still not hitting anywhere close to their profit potential) and really don't want to rock the boat. And they hire their "own" and don't really have objective people telling them what they need to fix. str8baller, JF87, go iu bb and 3 others 6

Do we really believe it is an administration issue? What is really holding us back. Ultimately, it is an Administration issue. The Administration hired Woodson and the Administration retained Woodson. Our problem is that Dolson's background is in fundraising, so schmoozing boosters and making them happy has always been his priority. Rumor was that Dolson realized that Woodson isn't the answer. However, it appears that Dolson's instinct to appease donors won out which means another underperforming year for IU basketball. kottke, KNOBYDOX, Kentuckysucks and 1 other 4

I doubt donor access like that happened under former IU basketball coaches. Hoosierfan2017 1
Popular Post Chris007 Posted April 9, 2024 Popular Post Posted April 9, 2024 Just so everyone knows it's dead week for a few more days. So Mike Woodson has been either playing golf or lying down taking naps pretending he's dead. So overall it's been a nice week. Supposedly if you play golf with someone who owns a sports tour business he will give you recruits or something like that. Hopefully, he gets his tour of IU from Woodson this season otherwise it will be from a new coach AZ Hoosier, Kentuckysucks, OKHOOSIER and 6 others 9

When RMK was hired one of the first things he did was let the Athletic Dept know, some ex players and donors were not invited anywhere near his basketball program. If I am not mistaken, I believe one of those players was Bobby Leonard from the '53 Championship team. thebigweave 1

8bucks Posted April 9, 2024 Posted April 9, 2024 Interesting comments from Leal on the recent HH podcast. When asked about portal recruiting and roles the players had in that he started to laugh I guess because Eric paused and asked why he was laughing. Leal said that they see these tweets about kids going into the portal and how they would be a great fit for IU but most of them are kids we have not contacted and are not contacting. Then a little later made a comment about how the team is encouraged heading into the offseason knowing they have so many key players returning but then he added a comment about a lot of people were saying we were going to have a lot of kids leave IU for the portal. According to Leal, the players knew all along they would be back. Sounded familiar. I wonder if he has Tyme to tweet himself or friends that do? thebigweave 1
