Only IU can screw up a retirement announcement throughout the day. It's now getting close to the women's game at 6 pm tonight.

they may as well wait till the end of the game... as long as its before IUBB tips off for their next game

Quinn Buckner, a former Indiana University basketball player and current board member, has praised Mike Woodson as a great person and said he believes Woodson did his homework before becoming the school's men's basketball coach.

exactly quoted as "Should be this evening. But I don't think Woodson is stepping away immediately. I have yet to hear that."

I miss Zion, he used to post here often.

Pain.  Saturday could be very, very ugly.

Right? We aren’t moving on from Coach K ffs, press release and be done with it. Teams can mediocre coaches all the time. Finish this nonsense.

Would depend on several things... when did he say it (relative to the reported Woodson meltdown)... and how serious the administration was about avoiding the "toxic" display on Saturday... you know if Woodson is there for UM, it's gonna be U. G. L. Y.

Trade deadline is over so he has time now

Not to burst a bubble, but those Leprechauns have 2 open roster spots, so Brad will be actively trying to fill them on the buyout market.

Also really good friends with Dusty May

He also thinks Chris Beard will be the next coach which I don't see happening

That's actually very plausible. Massive male ego. Yesterday he bought into the retirement thing, to avoid being fired. He went home and his wife and other family members raised hell saying "they can't treat you like that". So he marched back in today to say I'm out.

So, "nobody tells Mike Woodson what to do!*"

I think it’s at least mitigated some with an announcement, but I’m afraid if we go down big at home even an announcement won’t kill the boo birds.
