I can't imagine he will end up coaching out the rest of the season. It makes it especially difficult if he is disgruntled. I just can't imagine letting a disgruntled employee continue working for the organization once it's been decided by the employer they aren't coming back. (I won't say fired to spare everyone an additional argument about the definition of that word again). I hope that leadership does the right thing today and ensures that he has coached his last game.

So many big time contracts are legal scams.  This one for failure.  Besides all the facilities, support, NIL money…..$8,000,000 reward for failure…and it goes on.. These are the best kind of gigs for those individuals who can get one.

I think we need to take some time contemplating Cronin....midwestern guy.....don't see any downside to his record...just as good if not better than some of the "not-stevens" candidates that we are throwing around....AND, more importantly, hes not at the top of the list and will come out of nowhere...like we got hit with Woody out of nowhere and nobody was talking about him on THIS board.

Ok, with that being said, my list is as follows:

1) Stevens (fantasy)

2) May

3) Beard

4) Cronin

5) McCollum

6) Few

I believe Cronin has a $16 million buyout.

The whole contemplating retiring thing is to try and make this look like he is going out on his own terms. If he wants to coach the rest of the season then he will. Now his desires may change after Saturday. And for my list of candidates:

1. Stevens (not gonna happen)

2. Beard

3. Pearl

4. Few

5. S. Drew

6. Calhoun

Calhoun???? JERROD Calhoun??? Seriously? Well, you can't be talking about 82yr old Jim Calhoun....

I find it hard to believe iu would hire beard.  But all of that aside, do you think May has more upside and is a better coach than Beard?

I think May is Plan B for Dolson, but I’m not totally sold on him yet.  Trying to talk myself into him being the second best candidate.

I think beard is a great coach and would do extremely well here, he just has more red flags than red sweaters.

If Few is legit interested, I think you have to take him for 8-10 years over May.

If we have a real shot at Brad, with Mark Few as a fallback, we're golden.

Where did the Few stuff come from yesterday?  I may have missed it in the 800 pages.  What’s the source behind it?  Or just speculation?

Yeah if he is actually interested, he has to be number one priority in my opinion. Not only cause he would win big, but he could hand it off to one of his assistants. Just look at Lloyd in Arizona. I just think getting into the Few ecosystem would get us set for a long time.

Stevens, Few, Beard, May, Cronin, McCollum, Calhoun???!.......At this point, other than Beard, do we know for a fact any of the above would be interested?

You’re missing one, but you got one of our top four there. There were a Few people who reached out to us expressing interest that is an exceptional back up plan if needed unexpectedly.

No.  But we are.

Oh, you meant rumors?  Well, read Jerry's posts. Chris is keeping his powder dry and so is Josh.

No serious-minded winning coach would ever let anyone know about going elsewhere during the active season.

I love coming into the office and being "the guy" who has all of the "inside info" because here visits the message boards...Guy came by my office to ask if we are going to get blown out on Saturday and was shocked when I said "well, at least woody is on his way out now"....He had no idea....and the someone else overheard and had to come over and drop in on the conversation....they were elated that Woody is gone lol

Yeah, I took from Jerrys post that "we had our guy" means Stevens and Few is backup....maybe that is reading a lot into it but I am not sure how any other names make sense unless Jerry and his dog have "a guy" we are all unaware of at the moment..lol
