It’s gonna get ugly in the Hall Saturday …..woody is going to freak out…he might walkout at half and I wouldn’t blame him.  The humiliation he is going to put himself through is …hands up.. crazy.

Maybe I am in the minority here but I’m all about it.

I thought he was quitting today. Instead he is finishing the year and knowing him if he went on a run somehow he'd declare I'm not retiring anymore. Just can him now

I’m retired. You just don’t announce I’m retired, there’s paperwork involved. And once you sign, you just can’t say I’ve changed my mind and go on like you didn’t.

Think they’re a black history month jersey. All the women’s teams have worn them with their own logo the only icon on the top.

You're going to trust what he says Scotty? Lol

He even said he didn't know if it was true and that is why I said if true and not it was true.

I bet they're scared to death Woodson will badmouth the program after he's gone, and that's why they're so desperate for him to step down.

Losing program doing losing program things.

scared of what Woodson would say.  Yeah right.  That's the pot calling the kettle, well you know the thing.  :)

Curious why you are so certain he is going to finish the year vs. retire and step away.
He very well could, and you could be right, but nothing has been announced yet. “Specifics”, “Announcement” still to come per everything I’ve read.

Because IU isn’t going to forcibly remove a coach in the middle of the season because he lost some games. That’s just not who they are or what they’re about. Never have, never will.

I would guess the leak is not from the coach’s side, all things considered. It doesn’t give him any leverage.

I understand the “why is THIS the story?” thought, and I am not an insider, nor an agent/lawyer (though we have some of each group here, so chime in if I’m wrong).

I believe the rub is that if he’s fired, he gets the contract, I believe at $1M/year until he’s paid what he’s due. If he retires, he forfeits what he’s owed.

My guess is that he DOESN’T want to be fired, DOES want the whole pot of $, and thus wants to have it both ways.

So the sorts of delays we’re living with are probably negotiations to amend the terms of the separation such that he gets less than he’s owed but also gets to claim he’s retired. And given his status as “one of our own,” it’s probably best for the program to work with him if the number negotiated is reasonable.
