There's a better chance that Woodson returns next season that Stevens prowling the sidelines. IU has proven over and over that they can't manage the hiring of a successful basketball coach. I have no confidence that they'll magically get it right this time.

Is there a more pointless exercise than logging onto an internet fan forum to tell fans to not dream or have hope? Not sure what that accomplishes. Not like our dialogue influenced the coaching search outcome. If you think it’s unrealistic or silly, feel free to ignore rather than suck joy and rain on parades, lol

That's just silly because:

1. The chances of Mike Woodson being coach next season are ZERO.
2. So, even if the chances of Stevens are also zero, the worst it could be is a tie with the chances of Woodson returning.

QB hired Woodson. Dolson hired Matta.  QB won out.    
 

even though Archie didn’t work out, it was still considered a good hire.

This coaching search is literally the only thing IU fans have.

If someone thinks we can’t hire a coach because of whatever reason, okay, but then they may as well give up on IUBB altogether.  If we can’t hire a good coach it’s over.

I agree. Great coach and would do well here, but just don’t see it.   Especially if Louisville and UK passed on him. 
 

I still wonder if Beard used a PR firm and addressed/admitted his mistakes, how he’s actively working daily to be a better person, etc, if that would somehow change the perception of him?

That’s fine. Saying everyone needs to get over that and it’s not a possibility isn’t really sharing your opinion though, it’s more of being a Karen than what anyone else is doing in this thread. You can have that opinion and share it but not adding anything else to the conversation is basically just being inflammatory toward the people you disagree with. I’d be interested to hear you build on that opinion - maybe share who you do think is realistic… once the candidate threads start we can all gravitate wherever we prefer.
