Why does someone dropping a few nuggets of info that make other people happy and/or engage with the topic bother you? There are other threads to hang out in. Posts like this serve no purpose than to belittle folks who enjoy the information and a person in @Chris007 who isn’t under any obligation to share. I’m new here after many years on another site.  This thread is a blast.  Lots of good bits of info, some right and some wrong.  Many funny posts.  I don’t know why a few folks have to ruin it.

He was allowed to after being relieved of duty—and graciously being allowed to “resign”—during the season.

Yes, but that was after the regular season. The transfer portal for football opens before the bowl games start so that could happen so that could happen even if the coach stays even though it's unlikely.
