Hoosierfan2017 Posted January 24, 2025 Posted January 24, 2025 I actually agree with never been got Scott on this. We shouldn’t just take it as a given that Woodson is gone next year. IU cares about optics more than anything else. They will care about the optics of firing an alum who made 3 tournaments in 4 years. It shouldn’t matter. Anyone with a pulse can see the issues over the past four years. But the IU administration will care. That’s why I’m so adamant that it’s vital we miss the tournament this year. thebigweave, VFury, Mopladysman and 2 others 5

Our next five games are: Maryland at home At Purdoo At Wisconsin Michigan at home At Michigan State Those teams have a current combined conference record of 32-10! Even in a better year, if we could win two of those five it would be considered a reasonable outcome. If we lose to Maryland it's likely that at most we will win one of those five, which would put us at 15-10, 6-8 in conference. Two of five would be 16-9, 7-7 in conference. It's not looking all that good. However, if we win three of the next five? 17-8 and 8-6 in conference and this Indiana team will have duly earned some real praise. I just don't see it happening. Unfortunately, the math to 10 conference wins is still in play. We need 5 wins and have 6 home games left. Plus 1 weak, winable away game vs. Washington. Sunday vs Maryland is the "superbowl" at this point. We don't win that one, and the math gets much, much more dificult as we'll need to beat both Michigan and Purdue at home. Now, I think it's quite possible that we lose those 5 games by more than 100 points combined. We never play well on Sunday mornings at home. And the others are just waiting to ***** slap our sorry butts.

The Administration hasn’t been trusted by us fans for them to do the right thing. I still think that he is gone after the year, but I can see it going the other way if we make the tournament, especially if we get lucky and make it to the 2nd weekend, then the optics get really complicated.
HoosierMatty Posted January 24, 2025 Posted January 24, 2025 I just want him gone period. I don't care if it's at the end of the year or mid season firing. Honestly at this point I kind of want it to happen at the end rather than now. Woodson is an arrogant jerk and deserves to hear all the boos when we get torched by Michigan and Purdue. Hornsby Posted January 24, 2025 Posted January 24, 2025 I didn’t like the hire but the part that that didn’t make it totally dumb, which was fairly smart on Dolson’s behalf since he was forced to hire this idiot in the first place place, but was putting Matta and Fife on the staff. That why most fans came around and accepted the hire because Matta and Fife would have helped with all the intangibles they from recruiting, roster construction, game preparation, etc but Woodson nip that in the butt immediately after he start because he knew those two would have found out he doesn’t know crap and would have reported to Dolson how bad he actually is or how lazy he is. He never intended on actually doing the work required, he just wanted the pay. The hire was dumb but having Matta and Fife on staff actually wasn’t. Allowing Woodson to fire Fife and run off Matta was even dumber. We will never know if that was going to work because Woodson wouldn’t allow it. They should have fired him after that, IMOMike woodson isn't accepting no help from some college guys. Fife can get lost I coached in the nba. With woodsons ego this was doomed from day one. If tjd had left I'm pretty sure he would be 0 for 3 on ncaa'sSent from my SM-A146U using Tapatalk

If he pulls a Kevin Keatts and makes the Final Four, or we go on a crazy run and finish 14-6 in the Big Ten, that'd probably save his job.
