He'll be a lame duck.

One, he hasn’t said he doesn’t want another term and two, lame duck or not, he will still be one of the most powerful people at the university.

We hope so. Seems like Dolson will need others like Pam to back him to be able to make the change needed.

if Buckner tries to block a move that should become public knowledge and should get all the criticism that comes his way

I hope Scott has the political capital and support among enough “stakeholders” to tell Quinn to go F himself and go to battle if needed.

Scott can point to the FB results, amazing coverage IU has received for FB, and likely large revenue increase for the athletic dept as reasons everyone needs to let him do his job.

The doom and gloom bunch? He will still be in a position of power when a change needs to be made… it’s not doom and gloom, it is a reality. He can get in the way if he wants to

Yeah..it’s not doom and gloom at all.  Maybe Woodson will be gone next year…we don’t know, but to think it’s a foregone conclusion, is not accurate. Woodson has some big time backers. As someone alluded to in prior posts, it’s going to take cojones from Dolson. We’ll see what happens this Spring.

The wild card in your analysis is Pam Whitten.  Like her or not, she's a bad @$$ and wants IU athletics to be what it should be.  She set the football program in the right direction, and even Cig gives her credit publicly.  I am sure she's thinking basketball is up next as that has the IU tradition behind it.  At least I hope so.

I hope so as well. I’d be lying if I said I was optimistic.

Lame ducks can be an even a bigger problem because they don't give a farque.  He can step on toes not to worry about the ramifications cause he'll be gone.

I am because she's different.  She's from SEC country.  She's fairly visible.  Engaged with the fans and students.  Not some bump on a log like the past people have been.

If Quinn Buckner stays on the BOT Mike Woodson will still not be the coach next year.

You’ve been sounding very very confident whenever you make this statement over the last month.  I sure hope you are correct!  But you can see it from our perspective, he’s not out yet and we won’t believe until it’s actually announced!  I think I changing my wish to Santa!  Hey Santa, all I want for Christmas is Scott Dolson to announce that this is Mike Woodson’s last year and we will be going in a different direction

I'm curious what exactly people think Buckner will do to keep Woodson. He'll be at about 3 months left in his term when the season is over. If Dolson wants Woodson gone and has the support of Whitten what is Buckner going to do? Please be specific.

Realize, that worst case they wait until Buckner is gone and can Woodson in the middle of the summer.

Woodson won't get another year.

Agree.  Bump on a log would be a kind description for McRobbie.  He was flat out hostile towards sports.  I don't know enough to comment on how Pam is doing with her job overall, I know that's a touchy topic, but I like her approach with FB!  Cig thanked her and Scott again on X today.

I just worry about what tricks he might be able to pull to keep Woodson around before he loses his appointment. They've both proven they don't care about the program as much as lining their own pockets and QB won't be out until awhile after the look for a new HC. Who knows what they might try to pull.
Exactly they care about themselves. This is a grift to them.

His base of support is eroding.  Not all of his supporters are blind to the product he puts on the court and they are coming to grips with his lack of effort in high school recruiting.  Consider this my Christmas to all of you — Mike Woodson will not be our coach next season.
