Even with the historically bad football team, IU's basketball team should be good enough to keep the school off of these types of lists. A new coach would probably help.

Love the quote that it’s Indiana so missing the tourney is never OK. Unless you’re a ‘true’ fan and then it’s ok to miss it.

I'm watching how we do in the portal.  Word is out that IU is going to pay well, so I'm sure we'll add some very expensive and talented players.  The key is whether we create a balanced team or just assemble a lot of good pieces that don't quite fit together.  How many of these new pieces will be promised starting roles along with their big check?  How will that affect team chemistry?  Will Woodson change his system to fit the college game?  If not, we'll underperform again next year like previous years, based on the talent on the roster.

I didn’t see it.  Did we get those guys?

I said it in another post; this is all hypothetical and I'll be happy if/when this actually happens.

I live in the deep south and only get my information from this board. Thank you! Every year I read about IU has turned the corner and the new season is going to be soooo much better.BS! New players and 5 star players won’t impress me anymore with this coach. Please get rid of Mich Wooden!!!

Is there anyone in the portal that can coach all of these guys we have coming in?

I can hear Woody now during a presser in late January about our new hump to get over. Woody well “all these guys are new it’s going to take some time for them to gel”. He continues “ if Xavier could have gotten a 7th year we wouldn’t be having this discussion” and  “ that last question you ask I don’t feel like I need to answer that because I’m doing my job”

I hate to be the negative nancy of the group per usual. But this Tucker kid I assume asked for a boat load of money. According to a scout review, he's a big fan of the mid-range shot. This sounds right up Mike Woodson's alley, taking the most inefficient shot in basketball!

Not realistic. IU isn't even in consideration for him

Then let’s bring in a couple shooters, because Perkins isn’t gonna help out much there.

I wonder if guys in the transfer portal ever talk to one another about the NIL….Man, that Woodsman at IU I’m going to check that gig out…He’s got a briefcase full of cash.

I have no idea if Hunter Dickinson directly talked to other guys in the portal but when he transferred to Kansas he openly stated that he was making under 100k at UM and was aware of “stars” making nearly $1,000,000 and basically thought…WTF.
The “briefcases” definitely, not surprisingly, have impact.

Perkins not a great shooter

Tucker is a mid-range guy

Thats ok IF we can also land some shooters. What in the world needs to happen for IU, in INDIANA, to get shooters?  Hopefully MM comes back because at this point he is the only perimeter threat we have.  Another year in the 300’s, in 3 point shooting percentage and volume, won’t cut it. Is it really that hard?
