What are the chances this meeting was scheduled the day after not driving under a hour and half to recruit and right after a BoT meeting. Second question, anyone with knowledge, would an AD and head coach have regular scheduled meetings? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Will third the other two replies to your post. AD and HC definitely meet and it can be as often as weekly depending on the relationship. No amount of scheduled meetings between Dolson and Woody would surprise me considering their relationship and Dolson’s visibility around the program. Chris007, Tom White and cleeter 3
cleeter Posted March 1, 2024 Posted March 1, 2024 Thank you for the answers. Now to double down on that, since this type of meeting happens regularly it seems, why should it even move the needle or pique our interest at all. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Tom White 1

The concept of the Peter Principle is that one has done a good job at one level and gets promoted ("earned" the promotion by performing at an exceptional level) and that process repeats until one has "earned" a promotion to a level one step above where their skillset allows them to excel. woodenshoemanHoosierfan Posted March 1, 2024 Posted March 1, 2024 Back to coaching stuff, sorry for distracting thread. The thing that confuses with the coach situation is that multiple people (Rabjohns, Trilly, etc.) have said Pearl would be interested in the IU job. So it shouldn’t be a conversation, just go get the guy because it creates a better winning environment and he is a coach that would win a lot at IUI will still be a Hoosier fan, but, as I said before, I am a hard no on BP. He conned Thomas into saying Illinois was giving him a car much the same way some cops will lead a suspect with facts no one knows about a crime just to get a confession. When we first heard of the possible hire me and alot thought it was crazy because he had zero college experience. They through Matta as advisor and fife on staff and we were thinking this may work. Juan howard at the time looked good at michigan. We started to believe Woodson could be that guy who could be cool and get superstars. We retained the superstars we had and we were rolling. We then got some more stars the next season to go along with tjd. Things looked bright. Exit Matta and fife. Nothing to majorly significant happened bad till we started big ten and lost a few. I thought we were terrible but Woodson did turn it around enough where he definitely deserved year 3 but his overall performance wasn't great. This season he reloaded with some decent inside talent but failed to put any shooting or decent guard play on the roster. His demise come down to sticking with x who hurt his ability to recruit a good guard but most damaging is the obvious lack of coaching skills by him and his staff. Bottom line. My belief is a decent coach and staff could have made the tournament and been competitive. Reasons we are not is poor coaching by the entire staff. Not just Woodson but a entire failure by all. My opinion Sent from my SM-A326U using Tapatalk Howard played a lot more recently than Woodson, he retired in 2013 so recruits were alive when he played. Woodson retired before Howard was even drafted. Probably not as much cool factor when the former NBA guy was a journeyman that retired before these recruits were born. Hoosierfan2017 and coonhounds 2

He hasn’t been a head coach for 7 years, and hadn’t been a coach at all for two of the three preceding years. When he was a head coach, he was mediocre at best. Won 46% of his games and 39% of his playoff games. ’Deserve’ might be subjective, but he 100% never would’ve gotten the job if he hadn’t played at IU. No other team in the nba or in college was going to give him a job. It’s absolutely crazy that he would even have a buyout. I get why there are buyouts but no one was going to try poach Woody. If I was a big donor that was a part of getting rid of Archie and ended up with Woody, I would be pressing charges and file a civil suit against the university. Hoosierfan2017 and AKHoosier 2
