I walk past there every morning at around 8 or 8:30 on my way to work and for the last month his car has been there early, as if he was trying to show that he worked hard.

His car would just still be there from the day before. He Uber home because he had too much wine most days.

Is it really a step down? I’m not trying to be flippant here but is being a GM of an NBA team a bigger deal than being a head coach at a top 10 basketball school? I’m not an NBA fan but I couldn’t name a single GM or front office guy for an NBA team.

First off, it is not just any NBA team.  2ndly, the last I heard is from 4 years ago when it was alleged that Brad Stevens and his family loved Boston. The Midwest is just flyover country. Yeah, selling to recruits come to Indiana and get a top-notch education.  Here where 2/3rd of our population think that anyone with a college education is elitist and show be shunned or shot.  Since then, there are other rumors that that may have other factors...making Indiana look better.  3rd, who would want to work 24/7 coddling and teaching and selling to young adults that are spoiled and just want to get into the NBA or get their names out there on social media?  And dealing with helicopter parents...yeah, no.  Oh, forgot...just recruit Indiana kids...that want to play at Indiana....yeah, sure.  Tey still exist and are athletic, smart, ballers?  Compete against the new Purdue or Notre Dame or next door to MSU, UM, OSU and UK?  Go for it.  Very attractive.  Success guaranteed.  Unlimited NIL.  Buy your way to competition.

Well Cignetti does it very well.  Comon.

Mark Few is a name I wouldn't have even considered, but after JY's post here we are.  One thing Few would bring is a history of attracting foreign players.  I've long wished we would tap that market and bring in players with euro/international experience.  Good fundamentals, size, and shooting without being corrupted by AAU type play.

FWIW, most of their foreign recruiting came from Tommy Lloyd. That well has dried up to some extent since he went to Arizona.

HAHA he's not coming in early anymore. I'm not totally sold on him coaching Saturday either.

Me neither!  I think it’s a big mistake Saturday and the rest of the season.  He was forced to retire, only because he was an ex IU player.  Getting forced to retire is basically a glorified firing!  I still think the booing will be just as loud as ever!

Young one....Rick would never be an option....what is he 80 now?

No way, he couldn't make it at Minnesota.  This is the out of left field I am worried about, lol.

I think the booing will be even worse and the chant will change to "Retire Woody". Because the Woodson statement said "Contemplating" many will think coming back is still an option.  Will.be.ugly
