Not that the season is a success or that Woody is the answer.
But that a coach who’s been left for dead, then wins four in a row, and then is kinda salty about is ….
normal.

Sorry I was taking it wrong as well I guess. Woodson gets paid alot of money to be a professional ncaa coach. He needs to keep his emotions on check. Especially when he ain't accomplished a gd thing yet. Thus is indiana. he has a legitimate shot at winning the big ten tournament tournament

I didn’t like the true fan comment by Woodson. The true fans are on this forum. We care way more about IU basketball than most. We watch every game that we can. We know what good basketball looks like. We know what bad basketball looks like. I think most of us know Woody is not the answer long term. We are afraid that he will find a way to be here longer than he should be, as we miss out on good coaches that could be available now or even after next season. We don’t sugarcoat what we see. We just want good basketball. Getting blown out by teams and having poor effort most of the season falls on the coaching staff. If Woody can’t handle the criticism, he needs to do something about it so it doesn’t happen again. I will continue to root for IU, but fan of Woodson I am not.

I'm sure it is frustrating, and I'm sure it feels good to run off 4 in a row. Despite that - it's not a good look for him to be taking a victory lap calling out the haters when his team still isn't even on the bubble, and he doesn't have a single recruit lined up for next season.

Not really my man.  At least not in public.  When you’re in charge of a  program you got to rise above it, simply because if you actually want to succeed mostly everyone has to buy in. Just stop being full of yourself and let it go.  You know like being an adult.

Likely just showing us who he really is. I am sure Matta and fife leaving had nothing at all to do with woodson himself. Sure it was all them and not mike.

Agree that keeping his emotions in check is a sign of being professional.

Also acknowledging that being salty shows a level of arrogance that most coaches have.

I agree!  He needs to have thicker skin being a coach and be able to take and ignore the criticism, but he has not and instead blamed the fans for their failures.

100%. I didn’t miss a game while I was an undergrad when we had Victor, Cody, and company. Well, Tom Crean installing 42 Zone plays a week before Syracuse and failing miserably really left a bad taste in my mouth. 
 

Then I started to feel a bit better with Yogi, Thomas and O.G. Well, we know what happened there. The last seven years have been miserable and frankly, I don’t know why I continue to care, but I do. Growing up in Indiana Basketball means you’re in it for life, even if you want to tank seasons after season. 
 

But Mike Woodson told me I’m not a true fan tonight so.

As someone who owns 3 businesses built from the ground up, now with over 40 employees - I fully EXPECT my employees to tell me when I'm doing a **** job or making **** decisions. I welcome it. You can't succeed in this life if you can't handle criticism. In fact, we have meetings on Monday and Friday to do this very thing - criticize and brainstorm how the week went and go over the **** decisions I made (I make a lot of them). 

If I ever acted like Mike Woodson and blamed our customers (the way he blames fans), I'd expect to be put out of business within 24 hours. You don't attack those that feed you. You can handle criticism by either:

1) listening and realizing you could be better and adapt

2 ) getting defensive and assigning blame elsewhere

Woodson chooses #2 every single opportunity he gets including tonight during his speech.

Woodson is a punk and Anthony Leal is right behind him. I fully appreciate the players defending their coach (everyone who ever played for him, including Carmelo Anthony, loves Woody) but what has he actually won as a coach? NOTHING. To come after the fans - the man is destroying his legacy. He's now put himself in a position where it's win or **** off and blame someone else for sucking at your job. What a loser. This is why Woody will, IMO, never succeed in a massive way as a coach.

Fair enough.  My opinion is his coaching leaves a whole lot to be desired, he has an advantage now that those coaches going back to 2008 could only dream of, and he is an arrogant *******.  Not a fan.  He has completely turned me off.  I couldn't give a **** what they do the rest of the year.  They aren't winning anything that matters so go win some games in the BTT, go on some run in the NIT.  Who gives a .....

Yes act like your disappointed so far but have faith we will win the big ten tournament. He'll apologize for failing so far. Not divide the fanbase. To think a knight player is crying about disappointed fans is beyond laughable. Shouldn't Woodson be kicking **** and throwing stuff around to show he is upset lol

Woodson has had, what, literally hundreds of pregame and postgame pressers to communicate to the fan base and the media about how he’s coaching this program and how he approaches his team and these games. And he’s used those hundreds of times to be- listless, defensive, uninspiring, indignant, and now he takes a jab at the fans after they’ve listened to his listless, defensive, uninspiring talk for hundreds of pressers. 
 

Sorry Mike…if you want to produce mediocre basketball and not be criticized then you’re gonna have to up the communication game- adjust your approach with the fans and media a little bit. If you want to be defensive and listless from day 1 through day 964…then you deserve whatever flack you get. 
 

Thats how I see it. You can’t be mediocre on the court AND be a low energy mail-it in presence in front of the fans and media. Sorry, bud. We deserve more than that for $4m per year,

Fighting! He'll yes show some fight and if it took untrue fans to get him to do that so be it. So far I haven't seen him fight for anything
