Fire Coach Woodson Thread

Can't we just have Scotty R email him?

I’m setting myself up for horrible disappointment, but I still think IU parts ways with Woodson. If Dolson is getting this feedback - that we can’t even pay players to come here, it’s time for Woody to go. It cannot be ignored because feelings might get hurt. I personally like what I've seen out of Dolson. I don't think he's a push over and won't just sit there and watch things crumble. IUBB is in the same state (or similar) to IUFB. He gave CTA the axe, and he (CTA) might be the nicest person on earth. He's not afraid to do the same for the program that put us on the map; things just need to work themselves out and align. Sincerely, preparing to get my heart stomped on with metal cleats covered in dog sh*t.

I know we're shopping in the portal right now...but man, that quote from @Chris007 about having a terrible offense for guards...

I'm honestly worried we'll get a few from the portal or whatever, have an increased NIL payroll, and roll out the same @$$ **** we rolled out this year, MINUS Ware...

Can you imagine our record this season if we didn't get Ware and/or Mgbacko? And MM inquired to us. Basically fell in Woody's lap.

I don't mean to sound so negative, we are A LONG WAY from being competitive regularly on a national spectrum

Want to feel even worse? This comment about the offense was made by a portal player from.. Bloomington, IN.

I give you credit for hanging on to that hope. But h*ll, by the time they get around to it (which I don't think will happen...my hope tank is empty lol), we will have missed out on several great candidates.

I honestly don't know how much Buckner can do to save Woodson, but I have to think that he would still be a roadblock to anything Dolson would want/try to do. And the difference here is that Buckner had NO SKIN in the game re: Tom Allen. That's the key to this thing - moving Buckner's head.

I'm also seeing rumors that Schertz might be headed to Louisville. If he winds up at Louisville, right in our backyard, and May is of course at Michigan, and we roll out a big fat turd of a season next year, I have no words....

Oh a turd is coming that will be big and fat in mythical proportions.

Heck no it’s only for a few years make hay while the sun is shining. If Leal gets paid what he got paid last year even without next year pay bump why take 80 to 90% less to play for a mid major.

Not talking about Leal.  Rather anyone who could start and be a big tyne contributor.  When they sit back 20-30 years from now, the extra $50K-$100K isn't going to be remembered.  What will be remembered is kicking some team's a$$ for a few years, winning a conference tourney, maybe a sweet 16 to final 4 run.  Etc.

help me connect the dots .... who said it?

Hickman or someone from his inner circle is what Trilly reported. But Rabby has since said it is not true so we shall see with him visiting this weekend.

Rabby says he did not make that comment but if you saw it on the internet it had to be true as one of our posters commented earlier today.

Rabby hasn’t been a wealth of reliable knowledge either. We are approaching my dad can beat up your dad territory.

Long time reader, first time poster.
Coach Portal should have been shown the door at seasons end and definitely after his lone recruit left. It’s obvious that coach Portal and his staff doesn't want to put in the effort that it takes to be a good recruiter, let alone a great recruiter. The writing was on the wall when MM’s mom contacted coach Portal about her son wanting to play at IU!
Now the team is going to go from a $hit show to one of a liquid form next year and a new coach won’t have a chance at getting his hooks into the 25’ class of in state players. It’s sad. I’ve been an IU fan for over 40 years now and I’ve never been so down on any team that I support in any sport, btw I’m a Cubs fan. I feel it’s only going to get worse because who would want to play for a lame duck coach that has split the fan base? I’m not a rocket scientist nor did I stay at a Holiday Inn, but I’d guess there aren’t very many!
Btw Chris 007 keep doing what you do! Who cares if someone is butt hurt over something you said!

Great first post and keep hurting butts Chris

Not sure I like the sentence keep hurting butts Chris or not. HAHA

Feel like I need to grow a stache and be in a 80's porn movie

Oh do it, do it. With the 80's look you can walk right into the coach's office and fit right in....stuck in the 80's.  You can get first hand info and pass it on to us.
